clutch and flywheel upgrade

I am back to working on my friends car and he has the spec stage 3 clutch and fidanza flywheel. Well here it goes... I was fine doing everything and got everything done til i got to the axles and now i am stuck cuz i cant get them off and everywhere i search shows 2.0 replacements and they have an intermediate shaft with equal length axles and the 2.2s dont have that. I cannot figure out how to get the axle out of the tranny... Can anybody help with info from this point on or maybe post a website to show, i'd prefer pictures cuz everyone knows it is 1000x's easier. Thanks

That's what I used ....plus a buddy. It'll come out. Just pull then have your buddy pry...shouldn't take much prying

don't pull on the half shaft unless you feel like taking the boot off or replacing the axle. Either use a prybar or you can be fly like me and get a slide hammer with a special clamp fitting designed to fit the axle end

I never looked at the Cobalt underneath, but I know on the Neon there is a spot there to put a punch so you can knock it out. Might something similar on the cobalt. If not a pry bar put in a spot so you don't damage a seal or anything.

that's why I said pull as close to the trans as possible (knuckle housing). Don't just pull the shaft...you'll seperate the knuckle and rip the boot.

Pry Bar, there is a snap ring on the axle shaft splines. It will pop right out
