i think i would too. my brother's tc just felt so much more expensive than my 2.2 did. everything about it was nicer. 7 speaker pioneer stock, 17" rims, just had a lot of stuff that the cobalt didn't.

Good friend of mine has an auto TC with a TRD exhaust. I've been meaning to run him for some time. When I do run him I'll have Intake and full SS exhaust. I'll definetly dig up this thread and let you all know how it goes. I've driven his car and I do expect it to be a close race.

so assuming that's wet weight, they've got about 200 lbs of lard on us. But then they have more hp... so it evens out.

I just wish our aftermarket was HALF as big as theirs.

Every 200 pounds gives you a tenth of a second, its really not that big of a difference. That ratio was given to me by a local drag champion. so please dont qoute me on that

really it depends on the car and how much power it has. I've see cars where every 100lbs give it a tenth and I've seen trucks where it takes almost 400lbs to take a tenth off.

yea i agree....i was just trying to make the point that 200 pounds is not that much of a difference, maybe in top fuel cars or funny cars but not in stock street cars.

i didnt bother reading thru this whole thread, but by the title ima say the 2.2, mainly cuz i've raced a tc, and i beat him by a good car, we ran from a stop, i pulled and stayed ahead the whole time, and yes i hve a 2.2, my mods were a short ram intake and a freeflowing muffler

my LS was $13k out the door, woulda been $1k more for power everything

as for the race...i raced what i believe to be an automatic scion tc in my auto LS with the mods below and won. stayed even through first gear, second gear i pulled 2 cars on him, n we stopped racing when i hit 3rd gear (about 70-75)

yea, other areas of the country are cheaper i've noticed. the ls's are cheaper, the loaded lt's go for about 18k usually. new ss/sc's have around 25k stickers here. you can usually get them for less though.
