Unless you got one of the prototype v6 cobalts you only have a header. theres no 's' on the end. The pacesetter one for the SS/SC balts is good and does come with a downpipe. It may need some welding to match up to the stock cat.

Header. Header. Header. Only need one.

Downpipe you usually get when you buy a header. I went w/ ZZPerformance for my header/downpipe combo.

Yeah yeah yeah I just recently bought exhaust for the '87 K-5 I'm still caught in the v8 lingo.
But cool, I didn't know a downpipe came with the header. I was checking out the ZZP myself..

I ordered mine from pacesetter, and it did not come with the down pipe. I just welded straight pipe from the header flange to the factory resinator.

You bought the 2.2 version then. I was saying the 2.0 SC LSJ one comes with a down pipe, and will fit and is the better choice for more power.

Okay I found the Pacesetter header, so my next question is will the Pacesetter header for the 2.0 S/C also fit the 2.2L and would it be a better idea? Or should I just get the 2.2L Pacesetter and have the exhaust place make a downpipe? Also it says it is for offroad use only, not street legal? Uh....

yes the 2.0 S/cC pacesetter fits. And it says off road use only for a multitude of reasons, most likely because it doesnt have the tube on it for the SAI system.

Okay well do I need that? Hahaha what would you recommend for me to install knowing I have a 2.2L, plan to s/c, and want as much power as possible ha.

Most cobalts don't have the SAI system, mine did'nt. Almost everything that you buy custom says for off road use only. Exhaust place will weld everything you need, but they will not remove the cat. Check out my garage to see the pacesetter on my car

Okay so are you saying that my stock downpipe has a cat in it that they can cut out and use on a custom 2.5" downpipe that will go straight to the header??
Basically.. What if I just bought the header and the exhaust system.. What would they do about a downpipe?

Some setups come with the down pipe, some don't. I'm saying if you don't get a downpipe very cheap just to weld a piece of straight pipe in. If you don't have emissions checks, I would just cut out the cat too. I have a header, and straight pipe all the way to the muffler, no cat or resinator, One welded bung for a sensor, thats it

Gotcha. So I can do the 2.0 pacesetter header and just tell them to weld a straight pipe from that all the way to the resonator and cat (supposing I don't have any sensors) and still have no problems passing inspection? I'm in NC so its not like they're gonna get under the car and take a look haha

Vibrant hdr/dp combo along with the 2 3/8 vibrant cat-back would do you justice.

SAMPLE:
YouTube - Vibrant 2 3/8 cobalt/g5 catback

VIBRANT HDR/DP COMBO:
Vibrant Stainless Steel Header Chevrolet Cobalt 2.0/2.2/2.4L 2005-10 (Cat-Con) - Exhaust & Header - Turbo Tech Racing, LLC

VIBRANT CAT-BACK EXHAUST
Vibrant StreetPower Exhaust Systems CHEVROLET COBALT BASE; LS; LT; LTZ 2005 - 2008 2.2 1637

Now these are the cheapest I can find them and the cat-back is free shipping it's a lot cheaper than ttr.

The only other thing would be the fact that since you're going supercharged later, the cat-back is only 2 3/8 i'm not sure if it will hurt anything but i know that it's bigger than the 2.25 magnaflow cat-back so to each there own.

i have the gmpp and a zzp downpipe. installing the dp in spring. the exhaust alone sounds amazing not too quiet but not too loud.perfect for me. the downpipe should beef it up to where it will be perfect.
