i know another co made another pulley of some sort. i think JBP. but of course they charge a fortune and i don't really know how much of a net hp increase it delivers. they say 10hp but i dunno.

no way it makes more hp, its sappose to onlly make u rev faster, thats its perpose, thus putting your power down quicker, i know zpec or someshit like that has one for 40 plus shipping, but i never tried it either, and i heard they have a bad rep for not shipping ****, i say if you go with them, use paypal

That statement is both, correct and false at the same time.

The underdrive pulley doesnt "add" horsepower...it free's it up.

so, if XXX company says it "adds" 10hp...then it means the stock pulley requires 10hp to turn it, so it basically will free up 10hp....which would be like "adding" 10hp.

make sense?

makes sense, yes. but what kind of pricing/power freed/other stuff will this accomplish? my buddy just got one for his 240sx and if i can go faster for under $100 then im definitely down for buying it

Basically your freeing up power, because your taking a say 3-4lb steel pulley...into a 1lb aluminum pulley...

I couldnt see freeing up more than 5hp...

however, i havnt done it...so. what the hell do i know. i just know the physics standpoint.

There's a guy on Ecotec forum that makes lightweight alt/crank pulleys for gm sport compacts... he has before and after dynos and i think it was somewhere around 7whp. his are just lightweight and dont affect the electrical system like UNDER drive pullies.

He seems to have sold a few of these
This is worth looking into especially since he sells the ALT and Crank Pulleys as a package

Yes JBP does make a crank pulley
It's a lightweight design not underdrive and costs some major $$$
I'm looking at getting the ALT and Crank done at the same time

Yes JBP has one. Its a six ribbed LSJ crank that they are selling for LSJ, L61, and LE5 motors.
L61 & LE5 are a five ribbed design. The LSJ is six ribbed.
Stock LSJ left....Stock L61/LE5 right

The ones I designed compaired to stock L61/LE5 crank. The final product will be hard coated.
