cold air intake question
cold air intake question
Hi, I want to buy a cold air intake for my LS. However, when I told my friend that I wanted to do it, he said that I had to change something in the computer because of something...anyways, he said that that's what his friend had to do with his Honda Accord. Do I have to do something like this as well?
no you just put it on and make sure everything is tight and the maf is on the right way and your good to go.
my barber said his friend hd a 2.2 with a CAI and it was messing with his car and the dealer told him he couldnt use the CAI until he got an exhaust. doesnt make any sense to me but youll be fine. order it NOW!

I think the thing your friend was thinking of was unplugging the neg terminal on the battery for a few minutes before starting the car. That way the computer can re-calibrate itself for the different air flow.
PM us if you need an intake, we have a great selection at www.TurboTechRacing.com and have them in stock.
Im getting my GM cold air intake in a few days and wanted to know if this is true? So i have to unplug just the neg cable on the battery for a few min after i finish installing the intake?
I dont even think you have to unplug the battery....when I had my K&N Typhoon intake installed, the guy didnt touch the battery at all, never had any problems, no CEL's or anything.

there's some theory behind that, which can back it up... "more air flow in makes more air flow out" so with a stok xhaust you might not freely let all the extra air that comes on out, therefor being pointless.. (just a theory) don't go by this.. novice opinion
i have a home-made intake and i noticed a decent gain (but who really knows, could be like a plecebo and i could be imagining it because that's what i want to hear)... it's a tonn louder then stock and sounds great for the time being until i decide to buy a CAI.... onl cost me $20 for the filter and 30 mins or less of my time.. there's a how-to thread on this called somehting likeair box mod for 2.2L and a nice video to go with it..

i can reccommend this but i tak zero responsibility is the car is damaged or any problems occur from this "upgrade"... theres a lot of talk about how this will raise engine temps and the air that is pulled into the engine, mine is working fine and has been for the past month.
NOTE: i hope this is temporrary but can't seem to outeight the benefit over costs of a CAI compared to this stsock modded intake.
comments welcome.. SET ME STRAIGHT GUY! lol
