3/6/2010 notes

Went to deleware today to meet the seller of this kit. was a easy drive, 3 hours there, 3 hours back. made sure all the parts listed was there and wasnt getting shafted. all the parts are still clean and almost fully spotless.
This upcoming week will be ordering hopefully all the stuff needed so when the weekend comes around to install, i dont have to buy anything else big. BennyHHR said he can hook me up a tune so that should be good to go.
The weekend of the 20th this month is when i hope to put the kit on, tune it, and be fully done. As more parts come in, i'll update the post.

Will get pics up when my phone sends them to my email, taking forever T.T

3/19/2010 notes

Still waiting for parts from GMdirect to get in, they are taking forever... bought the 6-8 pin connector, intake manifold gasket to block, and upper radiator hose. did some research for spark plugs and alot of people have different info. some say get range 7 for plugs and some got range 6. some post said that we have stock range 5 and some said 6. still looking for a more definate answer there. Took off my endplate, switched cores and about to mail it down to Italianjoe1 so he can make me a dual endplate. Have to buy some additional hosing and T fitings for that. Getting a DP from a local vendor, lsj dp with already wideband bung in there if i get it. major thing i have to save up for now is the tune. After getting the tune, i just have to find a place to install it and maybe a few friends and we good to go.

3/20/2010 notes

Just got 42# injectors and wiring harness that should work. If anyone sees parts that i might need also, please post or pm me details about it. MAP or MAF what a 2.2 does not have and needs?

3/29/2010 notes

Got my Dual Pass Endplate in. Looks good. Interesting how this mod came to be. gotta get some misc hoses and clamps for it. Um, thats about it for this update. will post pic up of dual pass when can.

4/2/2010 notes

Put pic of dual pass endplate. not sure how i will hook up this TB adapter... looks like i will still have to cut into my stock one. thought it would just be like a female/male adapter. plug and go. not splice then plug. theres 8 wires at the end, no instruction what to do lol. anyone can help? working on water resy and upper radiator hose.
Thanks

4/15/2010

Just ordered spark plugs and sent out payment for my dealer/tune from Vince. I will be able to tune vehicles around South East VA for Trifecta. Figure someone here needs to tune the 2.2s since BennyHHR cant cause he has HPtuners. Still looking for water resivor and radiator hose. got a drop in filter for the intake. has airbox mod already done so makes my job easy there. forecast looks like first weekend in may i will try to start putting the SC on the car. also attached dual endplate onto intake mani, looks good. gotta buy some hoses and add-a-fuse for intercooler pump and that should be it. getting there.

4/27/2010

Got the tuner cable in yesterday, waiting for vince to send tune and software. also got spark plugs in. have everypart but radiator hose but i can get that at autozone or w/e. o and windshield resivor but i can drive w/o that for awhile. i was just sitting and thinking about installing the SC, i still have my extended warrenty for another 50k miles. i was going to install the sc this weekend but idk now. someone change my mind back. i got about 50,000 miles on the car now. the tranny makes a click when shifting into D and R. dont wanna add the SC on then the tranny break. also waiting for the power steering recall number to come in so i can take it in for them to reinstall that. any suggestions? the car breaking down and not having a warrenty can hurt me, i have a kid on the way and cant afford to replace tranny if it goes. tranny might be full healthy im just thinking bad thoughts right now.

Man I lost count lol. 1100 for sc kit. 100 for injectors and harness. 400 for dealer/tune. 6 to 8 pin adapter was 80. And then u got misc hoses, and small stuff. O dual endplate was 80 too. I got stage 2 off the back so even if it all adds up to like 1800, still is better price than zzp I think. Hopefully being a tuner here in va, I can make a couple bucks back.

And thanks gene for offering help. I been trying to research all info needed so install won't be to much of pain. If I run into any problems ill be sure to hit u or hunter up. Thanks

you got your ups and downs for both ways. ZZPs is already put together so no searching for parts or waiting for deals to pop up. less hassle. also you get ZZPs customer service if needed. but at a cost of a higher price.

the up for piecing it together is if u dont have $2000 now for zzp, u can buy a part here and there used or new. might take you a few weeks but if ur in no rush, it will be cheaper in the long run.

yeah i understand i really just dont know if i want to sc or tc yet or if i just want to stay n\a and wait to mpay off my car when i get deployed then just buy a different car all together. the cobalt is nice and all but the ls just takes to much money to get what i want out of it.

Yeah what black said. Would def need retune and stock cable maybe. The stock pulley is 3.4" for 15 psi where the stock sc pulley is also 3.4". But should be direct bolt up. Tvs though is for super boosting and ppl who are doing internals for 2.2s or 2.4s. Others should be ok

Would it be worth it for a 2.2 tvs? 2100 for that, plus all internals and tranny. I would just run reg sc at 15 psi. I won't be running 15 psi here but like 12. If I get a boost controller, then like 8 for DD
