ya, it goes further up in the piping. It gives your intake a place to pull air when you "clog" your main with water...makes it so that you dont suck water into the engine...here:

Well after the first 30 miles and the CEL coming on I rechecked the seal on the sensor and tried to reseal it best I could. Now 400 miles later it came back on tonight.I'm checking ing a few things again and try for a 3rd time and see what happens.I still say its some type of vacum leak.

I had this happen. I replaced the filter with the AEM and tightened all the clamps down till they wouldnt tighten any more. Im guessing we are getting a vac leak at high rpms forward of the maf...and since i tightened anything it works better. Oh, and i replaced the screws on the maf with some longer ones to get more bite.

send lokatech a message thru ebay, just click on the message seller, and tell them you are looking for the cold air intake for the 05 06 07 chevy cobalt, that you saw it on the listings and now its gone, they will sedn you a invoice, sometimes they just have them on there for a while, than they bring them back, same thign happend with my body last week, i was looking at it for a week, than when i had the money it dissappeared, so i sent the company a message telling them i got the money to buy the kit for the 06 cobalt, he sent me a invoice thru paypal for it, and now its scheduled to arrive on thursday,

Well mine just showed up like 10 minutes ago, in a few I am going to go out and put in together and see how it goes. Finally something I ordered that I have experience w/ installing lol. The filter looks almost like this oiled one I got when I got a system for my Lincoln LS8, so I well drive w/ it for a few before getting the aem since this one looks good. Everything else looks good, do not like how the square hole is put on the intake tube, rather cheap on the inside, like a kid cut the whole and just had a half decent welder put the square piece on.

Is there a how to? I can pretty much do it myself but I cannot get that black thing off, there is a plastic piece up ontop w/ a rubber thing up it and that seems to be what is holding it on really good and just do not know how to get it off, do ya just yank hard for it to come off or is there a different way. Gonna hold off till after work tomorrow because I do not feel like messing w/ it tonight.

Taking the headlight and bracket along with the inner wheel well lining will make for get the air silencer out alot easier. The one your having trouble getting to is probably the plastic clip on the inner part on the silencer.

To get that out you pry the center piece up and then the clip will slide right out. It's kinda like a nail looking thing that when pushed in expands the lower part of the clip to hold it in place. You will find the same thing on the lower part of the OEM intake and inner wheelwell.

How did you guys go about making it a SRI? Guessing just as it turns to go down by the light and such you just "sawed" it off? I have decided to wait till I have taken the car in for its regular service just so I do not have to worry about hearing about what I did, I am sure nothing would probably be said since its just an normal service but you know dealers.

EBAY intake ruined my o2 sensor. i ran rich even after i cut the small opening. maybe if you are stock it would work but if you went smaller pulley it's not a good idea. btw i have the pipe lying in the basement whoever wants it can pay for the shipping and it's yours
