ecotec header

ok i was just wondering if anyone is positive that the cav's ecotec header, like pacesetter will fit our cobalts? i know its for the same engine so it should bolt up fine, just not sure if it fits in the engine bay or anything like that, doesnt matter if it doesnt match up with stock exhaust since that will all be replaced. just dont want to buy the header and not be able to use it

thats what I was wondering...ok it bolts to the block but does the downpipe connect to the exhaust and are the flanges the same?

What about the RK Sport header? I heard it robs a little power downlow but maybe that one is a direct bolt on.

im not even worried about the downpipe since new 2.25 inch pipe will be welded straight to the header you know, just worried if the header itself will fit in the engine bay more or less

so you're going to have a downpipe and flexpipe custom made? sounds expensive

I'm looking for a direct bolt on myself.

The Pacesetter will fit the ION, however the others will not due to the design of them (ie they will not clear the firewall, whereas the pacesetter will). None of them will bolt-up to your stock exhaust, since they were designed for J-bodies and the j-body exhaust is different than both of our types of cars. Simply put, if your a cobat or ION owner and looking for a header, the pacesetter will work but you have to get custom piping welded after the collector on the header. Hope this helps.
