Engine cover and header?

Anyone have problems with running the plastic engine cover with an aftermarket header? Been running without mine for a couple months, wanting to put it back on, just not sure if it will be too much heat...

Why would you put it back on?

My stock manifold had a big crack and melted some of the wire loom. I replaced it with dei cool tubes, they stick out because they are so shiny. I think it looks better covered up...

I don't see it being a problem because the cover isn't near the header.

I used to have the engine cover on with my header and it didn't give me any problems. I ended up removing the cover because, things are easier to visually inspect without it.

Why would the cover increase heat so much that i would create a concern?

Aftermarket header = no heat shield...I was worried about melting the engine cover. I put it back on about a month ago, no problems yet.
