05-06.07 -08 has cam sensor.unless you use your head you can get 07-08 bottom end which has the gen 2 block.

the head wouldnt cause the cavys have the power steering pump on the intake cam.unless you use your head the blocks should all have the same mounting holes for everything.you could even swap in a LSJ,LE5,block i believe. If you reuse your head then any ECOTEC bottom end SHOULD fit.

damn.. the 2.0 block sounds like a good idea. lol doesnt it have a shorter stroke? if so i may try to find one. besides that it can handle a lil more power anyways.

ya i believe the bore is right around the same they just shortened the stroke.but if you go 2.0 youll need a power adder cause it has lower comp then the 2.2

and gen2 block(07-08)There makin over 1000hp with our blocks.no need to downsize lol

an lsj swap would be the suma *** lade of ecotec engine swap, i hope once I hit over 150k or if my engine goes before that i'll have enough money for this swap.. 2 grand for a 2.0 with super charger and intercooler with around 25k isn't bad.. for more money obviously you can get one with less miles.... deff want to do this in the far future!

i only came about this thread becaus ei'm searching for someone who has dropped a 2.0 in a 2.2 and wanted to read about it... anyone know a thread or if anyone has done this yet? i'd only consider this if my engine was shot and insurance costs for 2.2 has to be a lot cheaper.
