Exhaust options

Im looking for options for a new exhaust. I'm figuring I'll go with a badmab header then a 2.5" catted downpipe. As far as cat backs I'm not sure what to go with. I know I want a 2.5" exhaust but should I keep the rice cannon which sounds decent and just pipe from the do to the muffler or just get a whole new catback?

Btw, I'm also wanting a good sound without dropping a ton of money.

Compared to the vast majority of the sound clips I've heard on YouTube.

Well that's all I've got. Not too many cobalts with aftermarket exhausts on my block to go head their exhaust.

I've used magnaflow before on an old truck and I honestly wasn't too impressed with them.

Don't waste your money with Magnaflo, I have had one of their mufflers on my car for exactly a year and it sounds like ass. It started out ok and went downhill from there and now it's loud as hell and is kinda raspy up in the higher rpm's.

That is why you get a complete system. They dont just throw on a muffler, it is based around the car. Anyone who has the TRUE full system knows.

Well what I've really been looking at is the pacesetter system (header and catback), badmab header, lsj or zzp downpipe, then larger piping back and either sticking with my current muffler or getting a borla muffler maybe. But will I need to get a resonator put in or can I go without it.

Get this...

05-10 CHEVY COBALT EXHAUST - BOLT ON - (304 STAINLESS - 2.5 IN)

or if you want to spend $400 more, buy the Magnaflow system

Those are junk, they fit like crap, as the bends are not right... Read reviews on them, and you will see. Some may "accept it" but it is nothing like the quality of a true magnaflow system.

Well as I've said, I've never been too impressed with magnaflow products. And honestly from the sound clips on YouTube of the magnaflow exhaust on a cobalt I dont really like it.

One local company I talked to about hooking up an exhaust said that there wasn't really enough difference between mandrel bent and crimp bent piping to warrant the extra money. But at the same time another company told me it would cost around $500 to fabricate a downpipe and catback using my muffler and an aftermarket header. So I'll probably be buying a downpipe instead of having that fabricated.

But idk if I'll stick with the current muffler I have or buy a borla and go that route.
