Exhaust set up

Im looking for some input on my exhuast set up before i get all the parts. Im going to be running pacesetter headers to an Lsj downpipe and then a 2.5" catback. How noticeable will the power gain be, and do you suggest an aftermarket downpipe instead of the lsj?

yea the lsj downpipe is restrictive. look at the comparison on zzp's website. i just ordered a 3" cti downpipe with hi flow cat. i would look at a different header as well.

your also an ss/sc i can see how that downpipe would be restrictive for you, but im a 2.2 and dont really want to spend much on a downpipe right now. whats wrong with the pacesetter headers? I had gotten them really cheap cause someone bought them and never got around to installing them. What about the header/downpipe combo zzp has for 300? would those be a decent set up?

the lsj downpipe is restrictive because of the design. there are mixed opinions about the pacesetter header. they have always been a cheaper version of parts. the zzp set up would be better imo.

a 3 inch down pipe is way to big for a 2.2. for a least a year and a half i was running a lsj dp and a ca vr1 header in to a stock exhaust, made a big difference over stock. i did them one at a time too, i think the lsj dp did more for the car then the header did.

Any setup should be better than the stock setup, you should be able to feel a slight increase in power all throughout the power band.

well for $100 shipped i couldnt go wrong with the headers, i know they arent the best company out there but what ive read they arent bad. I wasnt arguing that the lsj downpipe isnt restrictive, i saw how its pinched at one point, i just figured since its 2.5" and comes on a supercharged vehicle that it wouldnt be a bad buy for under $100 for a na 2.2. thanks for the input, still debating if i should resell the headers and go with different ones or go pick up the lsj downpipe, get it cut, then install it all. Either way i have to remove my oh so awesome sai! I think i may just take it all out and run the car for awhile with the MIL untill i can buy a tune through trifecta since by what ive heard it wont hurt anything else on the car.
