f/i masters please!

its time to order up a new exhaust but i have too many thoughts in my head to make a solid decision so i need some help. this isnt another post about what sounds the best or whatever. I want to know what the difference of having a 2.25" and a 2.5" on a 2.2... I might want to turbo in the future, so could the 2.25" handle power up to 300 horses? And lastly, most of the exhausts are cat-backs.. so what size would set me up best for a full exhaust that agrees with the turbo? i.e. downpipe size whatever. I just need a damn map. If you can help, thanks in advance.

if you're truly planning on going turbo, and putting out 300 whp, then i woudl get a 3" exhaust. will suck for now, but will be better when you get your turbo. downpipe will probably have to be custom so it attaches to your turbo manifold, and you don't want a header because it will be useless. did you look into this stuff at all?

a turbo likes a big free flowing exhaust. your stock or almost stock 2.2 will not. also, if you put a 3" on and end up never getting the turbo, that's not good either. so you have to really make sure which route you're going before you get into this.

my advice is to learn as much as possible before you get into this, research, learn what the parts do and how they work, and what impact a turbo will have on your car and how it makes you modding decisions differently.

He can get the 2.75 dezod exhaust. I think that would be just about right for what your looking to do.

i read in a post (some guy made a list of every exhaust option) that the GMPP exhaust comes in both 2.25 and 2.5... if they really do make it in a 2.5 ill get that for sure. can anyone confirm this?

i'm pretty positive it only comes 2.25, unless they made a change.

buy magnaflow 2.5 the ext would be good for now and then but 300 hp requires a engine build 2.2 can stay relible till 250 then boom

buy the gm build book it will tell you everything to get to 250-300 saftly on a 2.2
