-feeler- rotrex supercharger

some of you may know about jackson racing, its a high performance supercharger company mainly for imports, mostly honda, well they have a new style of charger out that makes up to 20psi, with less heat, and 0 lag, also with less charger whine, i am in the process of talking to him to see if setting up a kit for our cars would be an option, is this something others would be interseted or am i going to be the only one?

The problem with the 2.2 community is that about 98% of the people are BROKE. So dont expect anyone to step up to the plate and purchase one even if they do come out with it. Im not trying to be mean, just stating the truth. A lot may say they are interested but none of them will actually go through with it.

And there is not a strong tuning option either for the L61 powered cobalts. BTW, NO supercharger has lag at all

i know that no supercharger has lag, it was just something he had on his website, because the charger looks like a turbo so ppl were getting it confused... The thing i have learned ove the past few years under the wing of a race engine builder is if the parts arent there for the tuning you want, you think a way around it, such as a 350 small block running a honda connecting rod, he needed a super light weight rod and it was cheaper to go get forged honda h-beams and turn the crank than it was to get titanium 350 connecting rods and the weight was very similar

Mainly for imports? Hardly.......they make superchargers for PT Cruisers and all the Zetec equipped Foci.

On a side note, Kraftwerks is the best Rotrex based supercharger based brand out there right now IMO. Their S2K kit is amaaaazing.

so its a centrifugal supercharger basically? putting a honda connecting rod in a 350 isnt tuning; that is building an engine. tuning is making the engine run correct and getting the most power out of it. all we really have is trifecta for that.

The rotrex is an incredible piece of technology.

All the muscle car mags have done tech articles on them, and they sure are cool.

But as for whine, I like more.

Give me a 11-71 Roots blower - THAT is whine.

Centri blowers do have lag in a sense, it is linear boost, like a turbo, only its not affected by the increased exhaust volume that accompanies the boost.

Positive displacement blowers create the same CFM per rotation at any given speed, with minor variance for efficency and such.

Centri blowers have a compressor map just like a turbo, since the compressor is exactly the same as a turbo. They have to spin up to start building boost, punching a procharged car at 2000 rpms isn't going to create much boost, but the boost continues to rise as the compressor comes into its ideal range, creating more top end power. Procharger type blowers make more top end power, and therefore better dyno numbers, but Eaton style or other PD blowers have a much stronger low end and midrange, ofter resulting in a faster car even with less peak power, its all about power under the curve.

How about a 14-71?? haha that would be insane...If it were possible to even put that on our ecotec, I think 1 lb of boost may blow the engine (that is if the engine can even spin the supercharger)

Rotrex units are much much better than any Procharger or Vortech centifrugal unit. Just read D-Sport's write up on the new Kraftwerks S2K kit.....they explain the unit in great detail in the new issue. I'll see if they have the write up on their website.

There's a '68 or '69 Vette convertible around my house that runs at least an 11-71, and god, it sounds GREAT. You can hear the whine from a long ways away.

i spoke to craftwerks ages ago before i started buying parts for my procharger setup.. they're great peices of technology.. they have some pretty sick blowers.. the're in the most literal sense a blet driven turbo.. even more so then a procharger.. they use a/r and turbines from turbos actually from what i understand.. they're pretty quite too.. which is one of the reasons i thought about going for it .. the biggest problem i had that kraftwerks wanted was they need the size of the crakn pulley and no one could give me the stats on that..

http://**************/viewtopic.php?t...ghlight=rotrex

there's some info that i've got
