buy a pacesetter header, universal magnaflow 2.5' cat, universal muffler and resonator, and get a custom downpipe and exhaust piping made at a muffler shop. Should net you some nice affordable power around your price range.

Yeah, if you want to blow it up...might want to upgrade some key parts before running NOS through your car's blood...the thing of it is, if you want to play it safe, $400 will not do much on performance...you will have to start getting into a couple grand before seeing significant results..nothing will add power to your car like forced induction or NOS....but I recommend helping your balt get the air out to increase power and efficiency...go with an exhaust...you can get a megan drift spec race exhaust for around $400

Wow this guy is a complete idiot. If he knew ANYTHING about our cars he would understand that the use of nitrous is COMPLETELY safe, if it is used under the correct guidelines. Check the Nitrous section and search 2.2 or something. Ive run about 6 bottle through my car and Spanky has run about 25. So anyone who has to say its not safe should do some research before they talk out of their asses.

dude to make such an uneducated post like that would leave me to believe you're either a child or a moron. take your pick, but before you go running your lip at least understand what the hell you're talking about, i do. go read a book kid.

coupla grand before you see performance, huh? you really don't know **** about the 2.2 do you?

nos

ha, thanks guys...anyway...it just doesn't seem practical...how many shots are you talking? 150?....don't get me wrong, NX would be fun...but the power is not always there...once you run out..its gone until you refill the bottle or get another...I think this guy is lookig for a source of power that will always be there....plus, I've seen many vids of guys running nos in their balts ...at drag races..if you don't know what you are doing...say good by 2.2L....sure..what do I know

yes, you can. pacesetter header is around 150, a universal high flow cat is around 70, pacesetter exhaust can be had for 200, and the rest can be used to pay a muffler shop to make you a downpipe and install.

nitrous will still get you the most gain for the $... even a 50 shot would still probably net you more hp than a full exhaust system.

or if you dont wanna keep refilling bottles do a custom exhaust, but dont get pacesetter, i hear it sounds too raspy/ricey. you're not going to get much done in the way of hp by doing bolt ons for $400 though... the zzp mid length header/dp is about $370, probably best you can get for under $400 new. if you can, pick up a used vibrant. if you're going to do it, do it right the first time with high quality products.

understandable

jhs...ppl are always looking for reasons to flame another on here...my suggestion to you is....because I honestly don't think NOS is the way you are wanting to go.... pacesetter items don't cost an arm and a leg...the megan exhaust, as I understand it is a great system...

http://meganracing.com/products/prod...d=534&catid=90

I don't have it on my car yet, but I'll be ordering it within the next few weeks...I also hear that corsa weapon R exhausts are good, I'm not sure..but I think they are a bit pricier

the vid that's been beat to death is of one memebers window switch failing and spraying way too early. i've been through more bottles then i can count and one bottle gives me a good 10+ 1/4 mile runs with a little juice to boot on the street. try not to base you knowledge and experience on a couple of vids when there are hundreds of owners that run on juice. seems a little narrow minded when you don't even own the stuff.

oh, yeah we're hear solely for the purpose of flaming the misinformed when they perpetuate baseless information.

experience

and that is part of why it is nice that some ppl on here have the items that some question...I had some theories...you say they are wrong....but the truth is...anyone can jump in a car with a turbocharger and aggravate the locals....but not just anyone can jump in and hit the switch to pump the juice out the back...I'm not looking to flame anyone...but NOS is one of the more dangerous things to put on your car...not just because overspray can damage piston rings and more..but because it is highly flamable...if you get in a wreck and the bottle blows...

so what happens when my bottle blows? is there gonna be a huge fireball? do you know anything about nitrous and how it works? and just hitting the switch doesn't pump juice out the back. stop watching fast and the furious and research the subject before you speak on it.

don't tell another member not to buy it when you don't know jack **** about it in the first place.

you cannot put on a good quality exhaust for $400. you can put on a cheap exhaust for $400(exhaust as in header, dp, cat, and the rest). pacesetter headers have been known to bust welds and sound like bees in a can. i'd recommend zzp or vibrant, which is not cheap. i'll say it again, if you're going to do it, do it right the first time, with good quality products. if you want a quick fix for hp issues, nitrous is your huckleberry. yes, you have to refill bottles, but the power you will get will far outweigh any other mod you can put on for $400.

i personally wouldn't touch a jet chip with a 10 foot pole. if you want tuning instead of other mods go w/ a trifecta tune, but you will be disappointed with either one if you only have an intake. tuning should be one of the last things you do, so you can be tuned for all your other mods.

yeah, avoid the chip. it's basically a one size fits all solution were as the trifecta tune is sepcifically designed for your car with your mods and any additional tweaks you add. to get the best from the trifecta tune you will need all the basic bolt-ons.

if you go with a custom exhuast don't forget to get a resonator or your car will sound like straight rice.

good luck on the desicion.
