FINALLY New Exhaust

Had this on my car since summer, never uploaded videos, it's nothing special but it sounds a lot nicer in person.

Got it off Ebay for like $200 shipped so I can't really complain. Biggest comparison is the Tsudo. Hell, it sounds great. Make sure your volume's up a bit though.

Any opinions?

Can you provide a link to an auction similar to that one? It sounds great, did it fit nice or does it hang down like the tsudo does? I thought the SR-S exhausts had fart cans for mufflers, but this ones looks and sounds good from what I can tell. I would buy one if it doesnt hang low.

Mine fit just fine. I used the stock hangers and haven't had a single fitment issue. And I'll look for a link.

Just curious, as I was going to order a Tsudo but this seems like a better deal, does the exhaust seem of quality or does it have very thin metal?

Did it come with the silencer?

Thanks!

It's made from T-304 stainless steel and it's strong metal. And yes, it did come with a silencer.

I assume it is a 2.25" exhaust correct?

I appreciate you testing this product and showing the rest of us.

Did the gain feel pretty good?

Do you have a video of the car with the silencer on?

I know I am asking a lot, but again, I do appreciate it!

The exhaust sounds nice, especially for about $225.

It's actually a 2.5"...

The gains were sort of noticeable, especially when driving in a "spirited" manner lol. I actually never used the silencer, mostly because it isn't extremely LOW, just has a lot of rumble to it.

My mods are a removed intake resonator, K&N Drop-in air filter, B&M ShiftPlus (I'm auto ) and the cat-back. It feels nice, can't tell if it's a placebo or not but I noticed some gains from stock.

And don't worry about asking questions, I'm always down to help. It is a really nice exhaust. My girlfriend hates ricey exhausts and she approved, even said she "loved" this one. My uncle (drives a Charger with a Magnaflow x pipe) said it sounds great, some guy with a Corvette said it sounded "intimidating". No doubt it's a good exhaust for the price. And I noticed better fuel economy once it broke in a little bit. (Averaged 38-45mpg highway), soooo not bad.

I have noticed that other threads where a header is concerned, people have reported a 3 mpg jump in economy. I originally thought they were lying, buy I have seen this claim so many times that I am wondering if the Cobalt for whatever reason is just a lot more fuel efficient when it has less back pressure.

In particular, the BadMab shorty style header has landed a few people gains of 3 more mpg.
I did not know the catback would do the same.

The only reason I say that, is because I have modded so many cars in the past with bolt ons and ignition kits that I almost always saw the mpg drop. Even the wife's Sunfire which got 30 mpg dropped to 25-27 mpg. She has a 2.25 exhaust including cat, and an AEM CAI. I have a 4:2:1 header sitting at home for her car, but waiting to get the flange checked out before committing to installation.

Currently I am bone stock with my 2.2 automatic Cobalt, and get 33.4 mpg average.
I have reached 37 mph all highway.
If I got 45 mpg all freeway, I would truly be happy.

It is the main reason I wanted the BadMab header, more mpg.

It is good to know the catback helps on the Cobalt.

The Sunfire has an Ecotec, but the computer is different and it is not fly by wire. I assume it is part of the reason why it is less efficient than the Cobalt.

Anyways, the exhaust sounds great and I will probably bid on this one on Ebay.
Thank you!

Yeah, no problem. The thing with this car is that the stock pipes are so restrictive and kinked that the mandrel bent exhaust just opens it up and I guess lets it breathe a little better. I THINK that's where the HP and fuel economy gains come from.

those mpg #'s seem a bit more honest. idk if i can believe anything quite over 36mpg in our cars; unless you drive without using the gas pedal

I sent a question to the seller of the exhaust from the above link, I am not sure if the seller does not know his product or what. I asked if the exhaust is 2.25 inch or 2.5 inch, and he answered my message just today with, it is the same size as stock.

I do realize the link was for an exhaust that looks the same as the one you got and not the actual.

I just wanted to make people aware so that they know the exhaust is supposedly the same diameter as stock, which is odd. Like I said, I don't think the seller of this particular auction knows but that was his answer.

Maybe it was a combination of all the sh it I did, and the fact that a lot of these highways around here are very flat and VERY slightly slanted downhill. Idk

I wish the seller you bought yours from still had some more.
$180 shipped is the best deal ever.
I can only find them for $230-$240 shipped on E-bay currently.
As usual, all that can change an hour from now on E-bay.

If I spot the 2.5" for $180 shipped, its done, done and done.
