finally relocated my wiper fluid res.

so I had been meaning to buy either an SS wiper res. or relocate mine since going supercharged on the 2.2 will not allow for stock mounting location. Relation was a breeze with the stocker. All I had to do was make two brackets out of 1/8'' steel which I cut, bent, and drilled at home in my garage with scrap I had laying around. I didn't get around to taking pics while everything was being mounted but can if anyone is interested in doing the same thing... Either way tell me what you guys think!

tools required:

3/8" DR 10mm socket (used for removing headlights, and headlight carrier)
3/8" DR ratchet
3/8" DR extension
8mm socket and 1/4" drive ratchet (used for removing inner fenders)
Drill with a large enough drill bit to allow a 8mm bolt fit through. (used for making holes in brackets)
press brake, or a BFH and bench vise

parts required:
1/8" steel flat bar/strip (can be purchased at home depot or lowes)
(3) 8mm bolt approx 1" in length
(1) 8mm bolt approx 3" in length
(3) 8mm nut
(2) 8mm flat washers

I don't write too many how to's as since I am not an author and most things have already been done. If something should be added or you want to know more in detail how something was done ask and you shall recieve! I will take pics as soon as I have batteries, and the motivation.

1. First you will want to jack your car up and remove the just the passenger side front wheel since we will be getting all up in that area for working this will make access much easier.

2. Second with the 8mm socket remove the inner fender plastic and under plastics behind the factory plastic lip.
(If you have gone supercharged you should have already removed your stock intake and air box if not now's the time to do that.)

3. With your stock wiper resevoir drained slide it up neck side up through the opening in the sheet metal where your stock intake would run. Keep the tank in the same position as to if you were bolting it up in factory location. Meaning do not reverse or rotate.

4. The stock air box has a bolt that holds it in place inside the inner fender. Locate this rivnut because this is where we will locate our first bracket. With a tape measure you will need to take measurements to decide how long and where the bends should be in your bracket.

5. Take the steel bend and drill to fit first plastic tab located on fron of tank. Mount using a bolt through one end of drilled bracket. factory nut will hold one end of bracket to the car and one bolt and nut through other hole in bracket to tank will support lower half of tank.

6. Next you will need to decide where to locate the other bracket, I suggest that you swing the tank up as high as possible before deciding on measurements of second bracket because reinstall of inner fender might not fit properly if located too low, and it will make filling a pain.

7. Once tank is located you will need to connect a line from tank to factory line that runs under window to the sprayers, as well as exstending the wires on the factory harness/plug that goes to the wiper pump. I ziptied the wiring and wiper fluid line underneath my core support.

Like I stated before in this thread I will take pictures so you can see more in detail what I am talking about. I also will give exact mesurements and degree of bends of brackets when I take pictures. If anyone is interested in buying a set I can make these cheap and shipping wouldn't be much. Time required about 2 hours if you have expirience drilling, and bending.

NP I will just add to this thread...

and then a mod if they think it's good enough can either move it to the how to section or if everyone thinks I should move it then I will. lazyness! it's pouring and windy as hell in WA today. Granted my cars in a double car garage, it just makes me more lathargic and unenthused to work in a cold concrete box with just a radio. It's not quite a man cave..

yes sir it is... should I make a how to thread on how it's mounted? I drill and tapped a flat spot on my stock fuel rail and with a long stud that's threaded at both ends mounted it with two nuts.

lol I feel you on cluttering up a nice engine bay but where I live in WA I use them quite often. Everyday where I park my car gets crapped on by seaguls it seems, if not there's plenty of dust, bugs and rain around me.
