I am putting this in performance because it is a device to aid in the cooling of the engine.

Anyway, you ever notice the front air dams on the SS and SS/SC? They hang below the radiator and divert air up into it to help cool the engine more effectively. (They are also scraped on curbs by many people who don't know how to judge distances )

I am thinking I am going to purchase one for my 2.2L. The mounting locations are on the 2.2's just as the ones for the SS's. The dam is about $25-30 or so.

Was also gonna purchase the piece of plastic that covers the tar crap on the spare tire well under the car. Comes on new Cobalts but didn't come on '05's.

What are your opinions on this?

Mine came off while dragging on the snow. No difference in cooling as far as I know. You want it?

 

My SS/SC didn't have that on when I got it and I never noticed it until I went to a meet. I went and bought one, put it on, and the car ran a consistent 10-15 degrees cooler with it

Its one of my eventual modifications, however I'm going to use some sheet steel once I lower it.

 

are you talking about the black plastic peice of crap on the bottom of my car in the rear? i dont know what thats for. its an eyesore from behind.
