Fujita CAI

So I have the fujita CAI and hate the plastic piece it keeps on the throttle body and was wondering if I get a 10 inch pipe 3 inches in diameter, clamps, and the hoses, will it work properly? has anyone done this before or know if it causes the car to throw codes? any help would be appreciated, i tried searching but didnt find anything.

bump, anyone?

as long as the distance between the maf sensor to the throttle body is the same as stock then you wont throw a code. Fujita intake already does this and will throw a code after a will, thats what i had before and decided to sell it.

haven't had any cels because of the intake yet, and I've had it a little over a year now. Only cel I have is from a bad evap solenoid. So as long as the length is the same between the mad and manifold it should work? Does the fujita move it further away or coloser than the stock air cleaner?
