Full 2.0 swap in my 2.2 sedan?

I think I'm ready to do some sort of swap. I gutted my car completely. Took about 2 days takeing my time to not break anything and label everything. What are you comments/ suggestion? Thinking of droping a 2.0 motor with hhr fly wheel. I know I need the lsj wire harness. What a job getting the old one out. Only thing I'm. I'm unsure about is motor mounts. Is it legal to motor swap on a ob2 car?? I will call a emission place and find out!. And what about the lsj computer in the car and VIN number diiferences. Can I have gm flash it with my cars origanal vin?

Found a place that will make custom motor mounts. Now I just got to see if its legal. And call gm and see if they can flash lsj computer to my origanal vin for emissions

Nah your good man. Its 100% emissions legal and fhe factory motor mounts will fit. Plug your ECU into the motor and drive away!

You don't want it flashed to your original VIN. It won't work properly. Just have a tuner flash a tune file on it via HP Tuners.

Also, don't bother asking too many technical questions on this site because 98% of the people on here are retards. Do whatever you want to do to your car.

I'm tired of seeing the dumbest threads ever. This "trolling" crap is stupid too.

Doesn't the vin in the computer have to match vin on car? Isn't it a emission thing. I'm going to buy a complete donor hhr 2.0 turbo

Why? It is fun! I've seen way too many of these to just keep repeating the old "use the search button"

You need to do some research. you're not dropping in an LNF and using an LSJ harness and Computer in a 2.2 car. The money you are going to spend to get it done, build a 2.2 and make more power

build the 2.2, forged internals for under 1k, turbo swap it, tune it and boom no need for engine swapping etc, only correct way todo this would be to buy a totaled lsj, and swap everything from it into a clean shell, and when i say everything i mean headlight to taillight, EVERYTHING!! not worth the hassle

Been doing my research for over 2 years tell me something I don't know. And yes I was going to get a wrecked hhr I can probly get one for cheap. So its really not a lot of money if you ask me. More time consuming so yeah. If my cars completly guttd id say I'm 40 percent there ya know. What's up with everyone talking aout to muc money eeryone is cheap here. 15k into my car so far let's not talk money here cause we know most people are cheap ass's here. 1000 for a salvage and my time. Its not my daily driver sits in garage. My mechanic buddy has all the lifts, we have all tools. Let's face it 2.0s are better. And my car would be one of a kind

You have a cobalt. It will never be one of a kind.

You're better off building the 2.2 into a monster as said before. I don't foresee you ever getting a 2.0 to function correctly.
