Fuse Box problems?!
Fuse Box problems?!
so i posted a few times a while back about my car just up and dying. and recently i found out where the problem was originating from. my fuse box. i noticed that any time i would go over a bump my car would die. bump as in the little incline into a say a driveway or a gas station. and once while i was on the highway. right after i manuevered away from a pothole.
so the other day i was like hmmmm its giving me warnings on the DIC like power steering and service airbag. the car didnt want to start so i had no problem tearing **** apart. and as sooon as i went to pull the top off the fuse box the throttle body made a noise. maybe the butterfly opening or some ****. so i started it. then got out and moved the fuse box. and what do you know. it died. we took it apart. made sure all the fuses were in, everything looked. fine. but we know that's the problem.
now i know most of you are going to say take it to a dealership but as of right now i dont think it will be covered under my remaining powertrain warranty. so i need help for figuring it out and what would be the place to take it to. anyone else have similar porblems?
right know we have the lug tool rigged up from the loop behind the motor to the side of the fuse box as the car will only start if the box is pulled toward the driver side.

well we actually took everything off the box itself. we took all the connectors off and checked them. but looked like nothing. it makes me so frustrated cause i have school payments due soon. "/
ya. i've seen faulty ecm fuse panels do weird things. i would double check all your grounding points around there to make sure they are all tight and properly grounded as that will cause the same effects as well. thats a free way to check things.
well she broke down again yesterday and the tow truck driver goes you say it has to do with the fuse box? im like yah. he takes the top cover off the box and seperates the halves so you can see the connectors underneath and goes theres the problem. the crank/run connector is loose. i watch as he shakes the **** out of it cause the top bolt wasnt on tight. i go nah that cant be it. he goes oh yeah? you got a rag? i gave it to him and he stuffed it under that connector. turned the car on and shook the **** out of the fuse box. and what do you know. the problem went away. the original problem was that the car would shut off as soon as you touched the box or if it moved. so i went home. tightened that nut that pulls the connector up as tight as i could. took it for a 20 minute ride. and what do you know. it ran. WTF
do you guys think that that bolt could have been lose from the first day this happened?
i never touched the fuse box before this happened. and as for the only times it broke down. it was after i hit some kind of bump. (gas station driveway, uncle's driveway, MY driveway, and a manhole)
