Glass Packs

Has any body put glasspacks on a Cobalt or does anyone know how they would sound?

it going to sounds like ass, if you mean like a straight through "cherry bomb" like muffler, i approve of using one as a resonator if your aftermarket muffler/exhaust is too loud though

Get good ones if you do. They sound very loud and raspy if you dont have a cat and go with the cheapo's. I did that on my track car just because you have to have some kind of muffling device. All I can say is that it didnt stay on long! I ended up using a high quality resonator and a race muffler.

They're definitely a cheap solution. Most cars that around here that have them aren't very loud at all. You should save your money and get a performance exhaust. You'll be alot happier.

had duals on my skylark... sounded bad ass, but then again that was a v6 w/fi so not sure how it would sound on a 2.2? Go for it though, be a first!

I have the Pacesetter exhaust and it sounded great but then I got a header and downpipe with a high-flow cat and now it sounds like complete ass. I guess I will get a glass pack tommorow and try it out and if I don't like how it sounds I will use it as a resonator and get a different muffler.

I use to have a 2.2 cavalier before I got my cobalt and I tried a Cherry bomb
I though it was the worst sound I ever heard
Too raspy and pops like you were making popcorn inside your muffler
BTW: I also took off my 2.5 inch XTC 2.5 downpipe w/highflow cat because it sounded like **** even with my mellow touring exhaust

I had a cherry bomb on a 97 Sunfire. It sounded like a 50 dollar exhaust job. It popped and cackled when you shifted. Overall for all I had it i was happy. Try it and see how it sounds. What do you have to lose/

Smile glass pack

i just installed a glass packyesterday and it sounds great on the 2.2l ls,
just if u do it leave the resinator on and place the glasspack right behind that. it does sound beasty though and my exhaust doesn't crackle snap or pop!!!! + feels like i gained hp or torque

Don't run down to canadian tire and buy a 30$ cherry bomb muffler for your car. it'll sound like **** and ppl will laugh at you.. however a higher end glass pack may work out.. i'd just go for a aftermarket cat-back exhaust or full exhaust lol
