GM 2.2l biuld guide confused me

I'm a little confused by hte GM 2.2l biuld guide. It is very detailed but when it mentions f/i it goes into cavi/sunfire stuff. I (think atleast) believe these work with the cobalt but need a piggyback right? In the guide it says take it to the dealership and tell them a code # and show them something.. I was under the impression GM was not supporting F/I at all for this vehicle for regular people. Was it useless to print out stock-250 and 250-600 ?

It wasn't useless, it gives you a good idea of what is involved in going f/i. And yes, if you want to go that route right now, you would have to go with a piggyback.

It does seem kind of strange though that GM would put out the build book when there is no tuning support for the 2.2 cobalt. Go figure.

That is a common area of confusion in the build book, so don't feel bad. Here's the thing. That book is the "Ecotec" build book, not the "Cobalt" build book. So it applies to all cars that have an Ecotec engine. They use a Cobalt as the car it's in most often, but that really doesn't matter. Then, when they talk about the supercharger installation, they put a great big picture of a Cobalt on the first page, when the kit doesn't even apply to a Cobalt, but a Cavalier/Sunfire instead.

That kit is only for Cav's, it will not work on Cobalts.

This is what I thought..I was confused because of the picture but that's cool...lol. So if I had a cavi/sun fire I could have quite the dragster eh? lol
Kinda sucks that those parts have labels on them that describe how they are not for road use..
