Question GM Performance Air Intake price

Yesterday I went to my dealer asking about the GM air intake and they gave me a figure of over $400 to buy the part and install it. Does that sound right? By the way, Im still learning about these mods and stuff so thats why Im asking about the price.

Seems pretty expensive. It is an easy do it yourself mod if you have the time and tools.

www.froogle.com. Also you could probably install that intake by yourself in about 15 minutes with a screwdriver.

Buy it from www.crateenginedepot.com for much cheaper than dealer price and install it yourself. It's very very easy to do all you need is a screw driver. If you're nervouse about the install check out your regional forums on here I'm sure someone in your area could help you out. Easy 15 mins job.

Get a set of screwdrivers from sears for less than $20. And then you will have them if you need them again.

Basically, theres a law that says the dealership must provide proof that your modification is what caused the damage to the engine for your warranty, if they don't, then its still on them. But still dood, I'm happy with the $60 one on ebay, a little elbow grease with a metal file and it works perfectly.
