GMPP Intake and exhaust

This is my first post on here. I just thought I'd show all the new parts I just installed on my 2.2 Cobalt. I bought a ss/sc exhaust manifold and ported and polished it to make it like the GMPP extrude honed exhaust manifold and painted it silver with high heat paint, looks and sounds great. Then installed the GMPP performance catback. Then the GMPP cold air intake. There is a definently a gain in hp/tq and gas milage. I'm getting about 60-70 miles to a tank of gas better, hard to believe but true. I reciently got my valve cover powder coated red to match my car which looks great. I had alot of problems finding a gasket for it tho. I had to order one from my dealership (over 50 dollars). I installed the ss/sc Fe5 springs which lowered it a little. I have 17" Kazara rims wrapped in Goodyear eagle f1 tires. I have the complete ss/sc body kit being painted right now, I will hopefully get it back with in the next couple of days. Here are some pictures of it all. Let me know what you think.

Nice job on the manifold. Did you do the port and polish yourself? How much did it cost?

Yes I used a dremel with a pen extention. Best way to do it with a dremel is buy a cutting/grinding bit set. I used 2 23mm cutting wheels over lapping each other which made it grind/sand more than cut. I also used a couple other grinding stones to get around the bends. Then topped it off with the sanding wheels to smooth it down as much as possible. It took alot of work but it looked and worked great when it was done. I cleaned it real good with some degreaser and shot 4 coats of silver high temp paint on it.

Here is a couple pictures I took while I was working on it. These are before I smoothed it out.

Nice job. The only advantage to Extrude Hone is that it does this the entire length of the passage.

I got them both at crateenginedepot.com. The intake was $262 shipped and the catback was on sale so I got it $80 off and spent about $400 shipped.

Those rims are Kazera KZ-B. I am getting a friend to paint my body kit so I am paying NO where near the price it would be anywhere else. He is doing it for $250, I just had to buy the paint and reducer.

Yea I wasnt sure about the springs either but it wouldnt screw up my warranty. I got them for $15 so where could I really go wrong. It did make the backend not sit so high, which was worth it. It handles alot better than the LS springs do. After comparing the ss/sc to the ls springs I can see why.

It was a real pain to get to the middle of the exhaust manifold but I did with many hours of trying to stay relaxed . Thought I would never be able to get all of the inside done. It was well worth every metal flake in the eye, metal splinter, and all the broken dremel bits .

You know, if I could find an intake and exhaust that wouldn't make the car sound like an airplane, I'd do it just for the mileage increase. It seems that most who have done this have gotten an increase in MPG...
