help me please.

so i was installing my header and dp and i cant get the header to seal to the head so i sound like a go cart. but the crazy thing is. im leaking coolant like a ****.

if any of you have any ideas as to whats up all i can tell you is its leaking from the back below the header.

what i NEED to know is what kind of coolant to use. i need to get it to the shop and i can make it there if i fill up the coolant.

UGH...why dose this **** always happen to me...

gee thanks.

You may need a new gasket for the header/dp install. As far as coolant, our cars use 50/50 mix of Dex-cool and water.

its leaking coolant because you forced that line to move installing the header

What happened man? what header did you buy? Like Dead said, did you force the heater pipes out of the way???

Your car takes Dexcool(orange) and drinkable water mixed together 50/50. There are also GOLD colored "universal" antifreeze out there that will be fine if you can find Dexcool.

what parts did you come with the obx?Is it a long tube header? If it came with washers, you need more then just 4 washers, longtube headers are a bit trickier to mess with to get it done correctly, you might have a leak from where the gasket is installed too.

You have two completely separate problems, treat them that way.

First, remove your header, again, and verify all of your hardware and parts are clean and in good condition.

Then, with it apart, inspect your water pump and pipe. I'm betting you find the leak in the form of a damaged pipe.

Fix what is necessary, and then reassembly using good parts.

update. got it back today. what was wrong is my friends a retard and pinched a coolant line in the header so they got that out and coolant stays in my car now but i still have a small exhaust leak im gonna drive on it for a couple days and take it in again hopefully a thicker gasket will be the solution.

it just bothers me cuz it still sounds like a go cart.

on a positive note. i can definitly feel the power in the upper rpm range and the sound is great, nice exhaust note and nice and loud. oh yea NO CEL!

For real

But honestly there isnt anything more annoying sounding than a header leak.. Mine was like that for almost a month before i could afford to get it fixed..

I'm assuming this Dexcool is "safe", compared the **** that caused the huge recall on the V6s?

Nope, same stuff.

The biggest issue with the V6s was the gaskets, not the coolant.

all you have to do is bend the coolant line out of the way... if you were going to do this this soon i would have told you all about it but you told me you werent till spring..

theres a small tab on the left side of the coolant line that you simply have to bend it and rotate the pipe.. it takes a little bit of force at first to get it to move but just rotate it out of the way

its not your gasket you can re use your stock one
