Help For Stage 2 Jet Chip Asap
I Got My Chip Today And I Went To Installed It Then When I Connected The Prongs And Then Connected My Negetive Battery Cable. The Pcm Fuse Blew Out Then I Called Jet Chip And They Said To Call The Dealer. But When I Took The Chip Out I Tried To Put It Back Together Without The Chip And Now My Car Wont Start Or Turn Over And I Get A Code Saying Power Steering. So I Dont Know What The **** Is Going On But Any Help Would Be Awesome. And I Did Plug The Prongs Into The Plug In So I Know Its Connected But Its Not Recieving Data From The Chip Or My Car! Also It Acted The Same With The Chip In It. But Im Still Under Warrenty Should I Play Dumb And Have The Dealership Fix It Or Would They Find Out

i would try to play dumb... but at the same time the dealer is most likely going to know what happened, kind of like the cell phone company "did you drop your phone in water" when they already know the answer is yes

Jet Chip Module purchasers need to make sure they are installing the module in the correct terminal connector! 06 and 07 2.2 ECMs have 2 connectors and according to the factory service manuals they are both 73 pin connectors so you can install the module in the wrong connector.
C1 connector has 34 wires running through it and the C2 connector has 42 wires running through it. Not all the pins are used.
C2 is the connector the module goes into -- look to see that it is the connector with the most wires -- it controls the fuel injectors, ignition, H02s sensors, etc.
C1 connector runs fans and provides power to the powertrain -- if you hear fans after installation you have it in the wrong place!!!!
The Jet Chip installation instructions only show a generic GM ECM so they are not very helpful.

Actually read SSNA's post and you will see that if he has thrown a power steering code he plugged the chip into the wrong socket. So don't blame Jet Chip.
BTW... how many users do you think have blown up their motors on tuning from HP Tuners?
I've read 6 threads in the last week about having someone tune their car and blowing up internals...

I dont know what happened
Brother I have this chip installed in my cat had a couple ofproblems the chip had to be sent back, but nothing like whats happening to you. Talk to MIKE EXT 112 at jets tech assist this guy will work wonders they ended up using his buddies cars to make it work, I am strongly impressed with the chip and the service I got from JET.
Use the top black plug, not the grey one.

Um how did you put the chip on if there are only 2 connectors on the 2.2 ECU? OrngBalt bought it and made a thread on how the "chip" won't fit a 2.2 and in addition to that, Jet took the 2.2 chip off it's website after they were aware that all three ECUs are different and how it didn't fit the 2.2. That is why they only list 2.0 and 2.4 chips.
Save you money from the chip, get at a tune, that's what I'm doing.

hmmm... go back three posts and see where they recalled the 08 chips because they werent working.
You ranting would be like me ranting that I think its a waste because the one I bought wasn't designed for my car. "It didn't fit, didn't help, no gains "
Well considering it wasn't designed for your model... I can imagine it wouldn't work

I am a Jet believer, but more than that, I don't see bashing a product that has been around for 20 years and has a known recall for the 08 cobalt product because it was not working.

the 2.2 chip was recalled i have no idea about the 2.4 since they have a different ECM might be a topic for the 2.4L guys in the 2.4 forum... just an idea ?
also 2.2 chips and 2.4 are different parts all together to compare them is apples to oranges.
2.4L chip is model number (stage 2) 10708S, (stage 1) 10708
2.2L chip is model number (stage 2) 10707S, (stage 1) 10707
theres the model numbers if you dont believe me.
thanks for clearing that up :P

i sent the car to a dealer ship just acted dumb to get them too look at the ecm or ecu, i told that my fuse keeps blowing then i said i checked the plug in and nothing was between the pegs. then they blamed it on my system 12' sub woofer i said lolololololololol noooooooooooo i had that installed perfosinaly, and it for about 6 months. they said ok. then i would call them every evening, then called then and asked, they replaced my ecu for free wooo wooo. so now i have a trifecta tune on me way so im pretty pumped for that.
