hesitation on startup 08 LS

Ever since we have started getting an abundance of rain over the past couple of days my Cobalt has been somewhat cranky starting. If I leave it for 8 hours or so, the engine almost seems to have a shake to it upon startup. If the car is already warmed up and I go to start it, it just seems to take a bit longer to turn over.

The past 2 days has been the first time Ive had any problems like this. Any suggestions?

yeah i had the same problem. it once took 15 crank start to make it start actually and when it does it was misfiring like hell. I changed the coil pack and the 4 spark plugs and the problem was gone.

so my car died on me completely today..

It starte out on the highway when the car started to hesitate and stutter, and then I lost my tach. After that, I took it to the garage, where they checked the plugs (which were fine) hooked it up to a scantool, which showed nothing, and changed the fuel filter.

I just pulled out of the gas station after filling it full of 91 an putting a container of Lucas fuel treatment in it, and 10 seconds later my CEL comes on and the 'engine pwr decrease' messages comes on the display, and then my car completely dies.

If this is the coilpack, can this be tested to check before I replace it? And how much should I expect to pay for the part, and how much of a job is it to replace it?
