Thumbs down High Miles, Low Power

Hey guys..wow I haven't been on here in forever.

So I have an ancient 05 LS with 113k miles on it. You can see mods below. Not that it was really ever fast, but I've noticed a pretty significant power loss the last +-15k miles, especially in the low end.

I do regular synthetic oil changes plus other maintenance. Is the loss of power basically just from the amount of miles on the car, or is there something I can do to get some power back?

It's not that big of a deal really, it's just kind of frustrating I guess. I'm hoping to get a new car next year.

Thanks

I put a set of I believe NGK sparkplugs at around 105k, so that should be good. I haven't check the filter on the cai in a long time only because it's a bitch getting to. I don't feel like taking the tire or the bumper off again, unless there's another way?

idk bout the cobalts, i know mine just had rivets where my cai was, could just jack it up and release the rivets for the splash guard lol. if you haven't cleaned that, that could def be playing into it a bit though.

its not hard to yank the plastic guard off quick. All maintenance items have been covered?

1. Air filter
2. Spark plugs
3. fuel filter
4. Spray down MAF with cleaner
5. Seafoam job

Holy crap I forgot about the fuel filter. That could be it too. I'll check the air filter soon. Spark plugs are brand new.

Can you explain "spray down MAF cleaner" a little more?

Also..seafoam job???

Okay thanks. I thought I could do that but wasn't sure. The bucket is the piece right below the headlight with like 5 or 6 bolts, right?

Take your MAF out and inspect it. If dirty get some CRC Mass Air Flow cleaner and spray it down.

Seafoam through your vac line will get carbon off the cylinders. Can also be put in the gas and oil. But i wouldnt recommend with new plugs

hopefully you aren't for some reason losing compression... could be some KR which would drop your timing if it senses it when getting on it a bit

I notice the most power loss right after shifting into second.

No rpm difference, no CEL. Honestly it's probably mostly in my head, but it does happen sometimes.

Fuel filter needs to be changed ASAP.
