Question From Honda To Chevy

Hello. I just joined CobaltSS.net. I bought a '07 Cobalt LS Coupe two weeks ago. I'm lovin' it! I went with an automatic since I'm going to be driving it to work. Shifting in traffic for a long period of time isn't too fun. It's quick for an automatic. I sold my '94 Accord EX (stick shift) because I needed something more reliable. The Accord was quick. The last car I raced in the Accord was a modified Cobalt SS Supercharged. I beat it by at least 2 car lengths. The top end on the Accord was intense. I miss the performance. That is why I am posting this thread. I need POWER! What are your suggestions about performance set-ups? I was thinking about starting out with the following: DC Exhaust, Injen Cold Air Intake, and PaceSetter Header. What do you think? Thanks, guys.

That's a good start, if you're looking at real power Hahn Race Craft will have a turbo kit soon.

welcome to the site I started off with a base 2.2 and moved up to a 2.4. I didn't really do much performance wise with it. There is really no ECU support out for the 2.2 yet either. The easiest way to get power for the least amount of money would probably be spray.

Good luck with everything and I'm sure the s/c boys won't like hearing you beat one with an accord

Thumbs up

I had the motor swapped to a JDM H22 which pushes 200hp stock and had it built. I have to admit, even though the Accord was quick, I like my new Cobalt much better.

AH the good ol engine swap. I was wondering what the hell you had done to it to be a SS/SC. Good purchase, and how's the sound system?

How much did the accord weigh, and what exactly was built about the H22?

yeah I'm familiar with the H22, I was hoping you were going to say you swapped one in. sounds fun for sure. hope you like the cobalt as much too dude, they have a lot of potential. the ecotecs are all great engines. I mean, they're no b-series, but they're good

Thanks. Sweet Vette. My dad just sold his '01 Quicksilver Z06 with chrome Z06 wheels like yours. It's beautiful. My Cobalt is silver too. If you need anything for the Vette, just send me a message. My uncle is the sales manager at Corvettes of Houston.

We could talk about the Accord all day long. I could list every mod it had. But I've learned there is always a faster car. I remember losing to a n/a RSX Type-S in the Accord like I was standing still. My car may not be a Vette or a n/a RSX Type-S, but I am proud to drive a Cobalt. Isn't that right guys?

Thanks.

I bought chrome rims from Corvettes of Houston for my previous '00 Vette as well as the ones on my Z06. I'll message you if I need anything down the road. Thanks.

Doesn`t a ss/sc beat an RSX-S ?? If so, how did he beat you like you were standing still after you beat a ss/sc???

He never did define "built" I know there's about a gazillion things you can do to one of those motors, but no mods were ever listed.

the RSX was probably modified.... and he said the H22 motor has 200hp stock. in a lighter car, also depending on the cobalt driver.... he didnt say what mods the cobalt had. it coulda been an airbod mod and an engine dampener for all he knows..... but thats not what this thread is all about!.....
WELCOME!!!
