Injen CAI, question, help?

So i purchased a Injen CAI the other day installed it and what not, and its great i love it, feels like i gained a ton of HP, I know i havent but still i can feel the difference, but anyway when i took it for a test drive, there has been some sort of lag, especially 1st gear around 3-4k RPMs, Now i thought maybe it was the Ecotec kicking in, similar to vtec, but im not sure, anyone know?

Thanks..

1. Ecotec is the name of the engine only. We have nothing that "kicks" in.

2. As a response to the guy above me, it'll be hard to install the MAF backwards.

I would check the fitment of everything, even have someone come out and listen under the hood to see if anything is leaking after you give a little throttle.
