Intake Technical Question

So, I have my short ram on, and I love it. I probably wasnt going to put on the cold air extension, it just really dosent matter that much to me. My question is this: After removing most of the stock intake parts, I noticed there is still a piece of stock tubing in the hole that the cold air extension would go through. Would it yeild better results if I remove this?

I mean, I am already sucking air like crazy, but would there be any benefit to me actually taking the time to remove this? Or would it be so small of an increase that its not worth doing unless I am going to put on the cold air extension?

if you take it off, there will be more air flow throught that hole. And also a tiny bit of a weight reduction....

Great! I will try and do that. Heres my next question. In order to get that tubing out, am I going to have to take the wheel off? I am guessing that it just wont pull out. Is that right?
Or can I work it out of its hole?

No, you don't have to take the wheel off. When I installed mine I only removed the plastic wheel well underneath. The wheel was not that much in the way that it had to be removed.
