Exclamation Interchangeability question

That thread has a post saying all exhaust parts are interchangeable.... Why then are aftermarket ones designed to fit supercharged models nd then for 2.2 engines. I wanna know... Can I put LSJ headers on, keep the l61 down pipe, nd would I get the supercharged or non supercharged SARS catback? (S/c kit goin on in spring)

And is the difference between aftermarket exhausts the way the piping fits? (Due to the different rear bumpers)

because the engines are identical with different internal parts. all exhausts will fit all models physically

Being that I am a NA L61 and have had both a 2.2 and a 2.0 downpipe I strongly recommend, if your gonna take the time to change your header change the dam downpipe. That will make just as much of a differance.

yah the LSJ manifold with an LS DP wont really be much of a gain. you can buy a new DP through ZZP if you cant find an LSJ DP for cheap

the downpipe is where you're going to see the most gains anyways. but on a non boosted car, you're really not gonna see a whole lot

right, my point was if you leave teh LS DP on, your still getting the same flow out as you were before the LSJ Mani.

From expierence of Supercharging my car about a week ago, dont cheap out on stuff. I didnt at all, and im glad i didnt. Also before you start make sure you have every single bolt, gasket and sensors that you need. Also look for Gene's S/C build and HunterKills S/C build. Read both of these posts before you attempt it.

Yeah I read both of those threads, Gene's actually only about an hour from me, but hasn't been on here for a while. I was thinking of calling that company he works for but idw seem like a stalker... So you're saying I NEED the wideband, in order to know if I'm running to lean or rich, but could whoever tunes my car see this?

whoever tunes you might have a remote wideband that goes into your exhaust pipe. but to be honest, i've found myself in positions where i'm running too lean and i wouldn't have known unless i had my wideband. you can very easily blow up your engine if you don't see your AFR's are out of whack. if you want to save yourself $150 and have the potential to blow your engine and cost you thousands, that's your choice, but if you already have the kit, 150 isn't much at all.

Well if your auto you can't use an lsj downpipe. They are different lengths. You can't use a turbo downpipe either.

Lol thank u for puttin it that way BankerBalt. I was gonna try to do ss body parts too, but I guess it's best to finish one thing comletely and then move onto the next, that being said... would the zzp downpipe make my car really loud, cuz thats something I wouldn't want. The kit comes with literally everything, even the windshield washer conversion. I just need the bigger pulley, nd to double check bolts. Nd hoses that were cut but I'm not worried about that too much. And my exhaust manifold question, should I ask for the lsjs orrr??
