2.2L Chevy Cobalt Stage 1 Turbo Kit!

Maximum Boost has finished their new Stage 1 turbo kit for the 2.2L Ecotec Chevy Cobalt. The turbo kit makes approximately 4-5 psi of boost and makes approximately 50 horsepower over stock. It includes a 2 year warranty on the turbo and a 1 year warranty on the turbo manifold. The only item this kit does not include is the down pipe. A flance can be included in the kit for an additional cost which any exhaust shop can weld a pipe onto after the kit is installed.

well this hann kit is supposed to run on stock internals cause it will be running low boost. but they claim with upgraded internals(pistons, rods, maybe some head work) and and upgraded fuel system(bigger injectors, high flow pump, extra injectors) we can pull 500+ horsepower

I was looking at previous ECOTEC project cars Hahn has completed. If anyone remembers that "Jin Cobalt" for the tv show "Tuner Transformation." I saw on the project car list that Jin's Cobalt had a Hahn turbo in it. This is in 2005, my question is how did they get to put a turbo in his car? I doubt they had the correct fuel management issues that people are having in current day.

If they were successful in puting a turbo in a Cobalt in 2005, without any complaints about F.M. why hasn't a kit come out already? Thats my question.

Dude, it's not even for the Cavaliers...

Frank does no type of R & D as far as his kits go. Everything he gets is universal, cheap quality and from ebay. This is a summary of how shitty his kits are.

You can always custom build your own system.

There is more to it than motor work to run that amount of power.

And they give the number 500 because aftermarket rods and pistons are usually rated to handle more than that.

I have to call HRC tomorrow about a few other things so I'll check on the progress of the kit and some pricing for you guys. I'll make sure you guys know as soon as it's released.

Also you guys are wondering what the motor is capable of...how's 11 seconds on a stock bottom end and 12.53 on a ALL stock setup (head, bottom end, clutch)? I personally made 260WHP and 278lb/ft on only 12PSI on their standard 16G turbo.

I plan to step up the car almost identical to what HRC did and upgrade to a 20G turbo...gonna be looking for 400WHP now. 11 seconds here I come.

Frank (Maximum Boost) is the biggest scam going... i beleive he used to be a supporting vendor, and got banned from the site for ripping people off... stay FAR AWAY, items are not as claimed...
