Question K&N Air Filter and MAF sensor

Will an K&N air filter mess up the mass air flow sensor on the car?

i've seen sites that show flow tests and how much more dirt the free flowing filter lets in +5hp > engine life? ..... but i asked this question before and some say yes and some say no.. definately over oiling it will cause issues.
