K & N Filter
K & N Filter
I just ordered the K & N drop in filter and filter recharge kit. Can anyone tell me if the filters come ready to drop in or do they have to be oiled for the first time out of the box?

You only need enough oil to catch the dirt, it doesn't take much.
I'm getting one as soon as it's available at Canadian Tire :P
My 3.5L Malibu has one already and it really makes a diff, it dynoed at 198 whp. Considering the engine is rated at 220 hp from the factory I'd consider that pretty damn good for a drop in and resonator removal. I give GTP's (stock) a run for their money

finally got the drop in filter in... had to wait a week on order... Anyways, the induction is way noisier than with the factory filter. The car feels much better under throttle, had a much better tip in under acceleration... maybe it's all in my head... With my Cavaliers, I don't remember the engine responding that great to the filter other than my mileage going up.
Anyways.
