ok so they other day about a week ago I noticed that when my sub hits.... it almost looks like my lights dim a little bit.....I kinda didnt think anything of it since I couldnt really tell... sometimes when I am by myself I think I am imagining things lol anyways....so yesterday I pulled into my driveway and backed up and then I was about to turn the car off but I had to make sure the sunroof was closed and windows too so I pull the window switch up..... then I hear grhrhrhrh and my lights inside and outside dimmed..... my engine seemed to make a weird really light grhrhr noise as well.... its really weird anyone know what might be up? I had a 12 inch sub and amp installed on the factory head unit about a month ago ... I dont see how they could have fucked anything up tho....

 

That is strange, IF the car makes noise your alternator might be going out.

I have 400 watt amp and 12 inch sub and have had no problems

 

If my alternator goes out I will be heated.... it has 2600 miles on it....

 

Yah... you could get a better battery or a capcitor...

And when you did your sunroof up, was your music/subs cranked at the same time? Because that would definitely make your lights dim more...

 

your stock battery might not be able to handle the new amp and sub...

my car used to dim BADLY.... i have two 12inch subs with a 1300 watt amp... you can only imagine how bad my lights dimmed when the bass would hit..

after tryin a capacitor, it didnt help at all..

i have 2 10s and my lights used to dim also when that hit dont worry, but you should get a capasiter i cant spell haha over along period of time it will tire your alternator out there like 100 bucks for like an ok one once you get a decent one hooked up your lights wont dim and your motor wont drag like it did

 

capacitors are a waste of time and money
get another battery, a nice one
