LS vs SS question
LS vs SS question
Always talk about an LS in no means of being fast. Over the months I have concluded that with research from everybody a fully bolted and tunes LS/LT can bring you to about 165-175ish in whp (cams 175-180). The SS/SC has base 205 hp so isnt there als a drivetrain loss to bring it around 180ish? That would make the power similar to both and resulting close race?? correct me if iam wrong...BTW..Happy Easter,Passover...Be Safe

Yep, the SS is way underrated for insurance purposes I think. A stock ss would murder most fully built NA 2.2's. And, any SS that's into racing is going to have stage 2 anyways, which would slaughter it even worse.
keep in mind that all these "dyno" numbers CAN be innacurate. i went to a dyno day where they utilize mustang dynos and there was a guy with a TVS powered ss/sc that had a hard time breaking 290whp with stage 2 a tune and some rice tow hooks. lol.
if you took that same car to a dynojet he would be pushing like 320 "whp"
make sure you know that some people on here claim so much whp but don't clarify what type of dyno they ran on.

simply put, unless your into the "i put $8,000 into my engine" category, a NA cobalt will not beat a blown cobalt
Narrow f/i to turbo and thats where its at. A turbo for a 2.2 is a mod that you will never need to replace as you can just add boost. Why replace internals before the break. Just push 225hp untill they give. Or if you really have the money forged internals and 12-15 lbs of boost.
more psi does not mean more power btw, pending how much CFM your blower/turbo can push, 15psi on one turbo could =400+whp, while on another is could =220whp...stop talking psi and start talking CFM
mine too...lol
but we are going for $8k blown motors, not $8k NA motors, which is what it would take to beat a blown cobalt
