LSJ or 2.4 Throttle body?

I seen this adapter kit to run Lsj throttle body from zzp. do you think this would be a smart idea? im just wondering if it would be a good if I ran Lsj instead of the 2.4 tb on all motor. im also going to be running cams

Some people say the Lsj tb on a 2.2 is too much for it.

This. Lsj is way too much. I'd explain it with datalogging info from a run I recently did but most people wouldn't understand. LOL. I basically ran 1.08 g/cyl for a very short amount of time just with the 2.4im/tb.

hard decision and very confusing. I read other threads, other people saying it was good. maybe ill just use a 2.4 since I hear so many good reviews about that. think one guy said with lsj throttle body his 80 - 100 was faster. im guessing you will loose low end torque to gain that? and that what people are feeling?

Think of it this way. When will you ever need to go from 80-100? With the 2.4 you'll be fine. I go 55-75 in a very short time. You'll lose low end yes, which is what you need to have in a dd car. What good is 250hp if you don't reach it until 8000rpm?

You auto trans?

You talking about this? ZZPerformance - LE5 Throttlebody Adapter Plate #ZZ-LE5-TBAP

That wiring harness is to adapt the LSJ 8-pin to 05 and 06 8-pin 2.2 models only. If you want it on yours you'll have to repin your own stuff. Your throttle body is 6 pin. 0-100mph(on a closed airport runway) is about 25 seconds for me. 0-60 in a little under 8 seconds on a cool day and 8.7 seconds on a hot day. It's not braggable but it's fun and respectable. You'll be happy with the 2.4TB. the LSJ is more of an upgrade for a 2.4.

To my knowledge no. I searched for a month for one before abandoning the lsj tb.

well this is very confusing than lol. im hearing 2 stories now. he said as long as I have a 2.4 intake manifold preferably a 07 2.4 intake manifold. and my stock tb is 6 pin. I could use 6 pin to 8pin lsj throttle body. probly not worth the trouble. probly cancel my order.

Unless ZZP has come out with a 6 to 8 pin adapter. That's possible, I swapped my 2.4tb on about a year ago. The difference in the manifolds is that 07 and prior were one piece and IIRC have a greater volume than the 08+ manifolds. You can use any intake from 06-07 2.4, I got mine from a G6. Got my TB from a 2010 Equinox. But honestly LSJ TB is really overkill even if you do cams, and the cams may require some serious modding to the camshaft itself to even work.

EDIT: Looks like they have come out with a 6-to-8pin adapter. ****, where was that a year ago? Lol. LSJ TB is still too much for 2.2 though.

I got it $65 used on ebay. it seems to look different then the 07 2.4 intake manifolds that ive seen on the cobalts from the pics. guess I will be testing both, a 07 and 08 2.4 intake manifold

Cool. If it is actually an 06 manifold you'll be fine. They should all bolt up anyway. 06-07 are single piece casting. Gonna tune it yourself?

Its a 06. I will probly use trifecta once I get a tb. since I already have a tune. so I guess it will just be a tune update. do you think I should get a 2.4 tb from a 07 or 08 since 08 I believe has 6 pin? or maybe this zzp 6pin to 8pin I ordered also might work for 2.4 8 pin tb?

Lol ignore my post before this. If your car is a 2006 it has the 8 pin throttle body. Get whatever matches your car.

My link was dumb anyway because I didn't read that you had an 06. Get an 8 pin throttle body, not the 6 pin.
