I refer you to this http://www.albinoblacksheep.com/flash/posting.php watch it, its also very funny.

But seriously, the most you can really do to the 2.2 right now is an Air Intake, and Exhaust. You can go a little bit deeper and do cams, header, downpipe. But thats about it for now. I refer you to the STICKY for aftermarket parts for the L61

yeah, Intake and Exhaust will net you the most for the time being.

Like rallyyellow said, you could do some internals and what not. No turbo as of yet. They are "supposedly" making it and then we just need someone to crack our damn computer (05/06, 07 was lucky and GM swapped the comp for one that's already be cracked!!!)

Search is your friend though.

agreed.. intake, header, downpipe, cat-back are the main things for now... i wouldn't suggest anything else at this point if you're not too familiar with cars or engines... i would also suggest to stick around, read up as much as you can, and learn about your car... you'll be amazed at how easy things really are once you learn some basics..

and welcome to the site!!

Plus if you plan on going trackside and putting some times down with your balt, you can remove things like the pass. seat, jack/spare, rear seat, run on 1/4 gas, get some lightweight wheels, etc.........remove some weight.

That's if you're going to the track.

It all depends on how serious you are about your car. Really about the only internal thing you can do is beef up the components, raising compression will net only a few hp. Everyones more or less waiting for tuning.

Which tuning by the way can be hopefully expected by Late Spring...HOPEFULLY

Um, hard to tell. Might want to ask someone like Halfcent. He generally knows about the ECU/PCM's

I wouldn't mind having one from the LT with the sport pkg. I can't believe they haven't cracked the codes for this thing yet...

Have it, performance is neglidgable. White gauges are the best part in my opinion, thats the reason i got the sport pkg.

Nope. New engine ingnition system. They changed from the Waste Spark compression sense system to a tradional coil on plug system using crank and cam position sensors. The new E37 ECM would want that info from you engine in order to work.

Damn... but I wanted the sport pkg ecm so my car doesn't shut down at 105... when I get more parts, I want to take it to the track, and if my car is going to do more than 105 in the 1/4 then I want to take it off. When they crack the codes for this thing I'm sure they'll be able to take it off, right???

another one of these... you can't just raise the limiter and think all is fine and dandy... it's there for a reason... YOU HAVE TO UPGRADE YOUR TIRES!! if you already did, then disregard... if you keep the stock tires, and raise the limiter your tires WILL blow out... the limiter is based on the ratings of your tires... the reason the sports packages has the raised limiter is because they come with different tires...

But to answer your question, Yes, you will be able to raise the limiter, and even adjust the computer to read your new wheel and tire size so your speedo reads correctly.

the sport has a higher governer because it comes with H rated tires. If you get better tires, you should be able to get your dealer to reflash to raise the gov.

Seriously??? Would they really be able to raise the governer if i got the tires changed? Like, could they do that now? Or they still need something else? And does it have to be the dealer? Ive had bad experiences with my dealer, like they are incompetent idiots.....

Well unlike most people telling you to buy this and that, I'm going to tell you to make a totally different approach...

Figure out how much realistic power you're looking to gain. Once you figure this out, figure out how much it will cost you to reach that amount of power. The biggest thing about cars and performance is money and parts available. I want you to make a goal and make a plan as to how you're going to reach that goal. It's one thing to buy parts and another thing to know that your money being spent is going to be spent in the right direction.

Now, I don't know how old you are but I'm going to assume you're young cause your name is "the boy", so I want you to think about your future ahead of you. Basically, is your car worth spending X amount of money into it? How long do you plan on keeping it? Think about resale value and just think about your future overall. There are much more important things than a car but if you're financially prepared for a car, than you should be fine. Don't ever dump your last penny into your car...

A tip as far as finances go, save atleast half the amount of money you're spending into a part. Example: If you're buying a $500 part, save $250 and don't touch it.

If you're wondering why I'm giving you this financial speach, read this and you'll fully understand: http://www.ecotecforum.com/forums/showthread.php?t=842

So if you have any further questions, feel free to ask me. Good luck with your car and check your Private Messages, you have mail

Yes. The stock ECM comes with variable adjustment for different wheel and tire sizes. I have been told you can put 16" or 17" with any tire on it and be able to directly tell the computer the new size and bingo, your all calibrated. You can do larger then 17" wheels, but then you have to lie to the computer about the tire size in order to get the same total wheel diameter so the speedo is still correct, but that still works too. Only a GM dealer can do this right now since the module has not yet been cracked.

You know... you can't jus read a post and then make a judgement like another one of these... sorry but I just get offended when ppl assume I'm jus some kid who wants to go fast... I've upgraded to 18" wheels and I've also upgraded the tires. But I don't plan to reach speeds above the governed 105 I currently have until I have upraded my suspension as well. I got tha whole blowout speech from an officer when I was doing 90 in my Tracker when I was 18...

I didn't assume anything, or make judgement... I very clearly said that If you already upgraded your tires to disregard my statement... I either didn't notice that you had tires in your sig, or you updtated it afterwards, either way, it doesn't matter. I'm sorry for offending you, I didn't mean to.

No hard feelings... that's just one of my hotspots.
