More hp

Iv been looking at parts online for about a week and I'm wondering if it's possible to get my 06 ls to about 250-300hp for about $5,000. I don't really want to supercharge or turbo it. If anybody could give me some advice on chips intakes ext that would be great.

Chips are a waste of money, To see those results, you are going to need a s/c or turbo. A big shot of nitrous might get you close with lots of supporting mods. Honestly you would be better off selling your car, and picking up a lsj

I'll just stop you here.

Go buy a $5,000 hooker. You won't reach those goals without nitrous, turbo or supercharging.

You can spend about $2500 on a super or turbo setup and start getting close.

Ok well I'm about to start rebuilding my motor new pistons rings ext. it's not much more expensive for bigger pistons since its goin to be apart anyway. But have u seen anybody go 30 over and get any decent results. And I will prolly just turbo it after

200 shot of nitrous will do the trick. It will only make 300hp once but that one time will be ****

Lol I just don't want to blow it up. I'm rebuilding because it's my daily driver but it's just way to slow. I don't know if it just needs a tune up but once u hit 5th gear it gains a mile and hour every sec.

Well if you have her apart, then do piston and rods. L61 rods are rated to like 250HP so upgraded would get you to your power goals without breaking possibly. Then just do full bolt ons and a 100 shot of nitrous.

its a N/A 2.2L econobox, what did you expect?

If you want 250-300 you will need to either supercharge or Turbo it. No N/A L61 has come close to 300 whp without some type of forced induction.

Find someone selling their m62 take off parts and do a 50 shot of nitrous. Pistons and rods would be a good idea for longevity

The 2.2 is a great motor, but N/A You will be lucky to hit 200-220.

Overdrive gear ratio in 5th, not meant for torque.

The stock sleeves are crap as is, any overbore is asking for trouble.
If I was doing a 2.2, I wouldn't.

Are you retarded? I've got an M62 with a 3.1" pulley on stock internals, sitting at about 230. 250 hp is easy as hell to hit on a supercharger.

OP, a $2500 supercharger kit, $1000 in rods and pistons, another $750 for a clutch, and then a 50 shot of nitrous and you'll be pretty damn close to 300. You'll lose some through the trans and from parasitic loss, but you should easily get between your 250-300 goal.

Im just saying, you can hit 300bhp on a supercharger easy enough, but after parasitic and drive train loss, you would need nitrous to push it back up to 300whp. 350 is about the upper limits of a heavily modified M62 powered car, but after the loss you wont see anywhere near that at the wheels.

This original post can't be for real. Wants to spend 5 grand but not super or turbo charge a 2.2 engine? Name a normally aspirated 4 cylinder engine that makes 300 whp?

If you build the engine, throw some boost on it and have fun

I figured there was some honda motor that could do it. The practicality aspect needs to be considered for the cobalt though.
