Muffler..

Alright so, I want a new muffler, preferably an N1 style muffler. I don't want the ones that are 2.5" inlet, 2.5" through, and 4" tip. I want one that isn't just a can. I just can't take the look of the stock muffler anymore; it's driving me nuts. I was going to buy the Ark cat-back, but I'll be going turbo, so it would be pointless really. I just want a muffler until then.

What is an N1 style muffler for a reasonable price, trying to stay under $150, that isn't just a straight through can?

No, but I'm not running 3" N/A.

I wanted the Ark N-II, but it's 2.5", and I'm not paying $700 for an exhaust, then sell it when I got turbo, and lose money.

I wouldn't say soon, but I am saving for the Hahn kit.

Same as the Megan Racing cat-back, only it's just the muffler.

Sounds good!

If there was a way, I'd be down.

In an attempt to actually answer your question, unlike everyone else (save for a few you) who just said things like "**** canister mufflers" and "no do this instead"......

I'd recommend the Apex-i N1 and the HKS Hi-Power mufflers. Both come from very prestigious, quality brands. I'd provide links, but just Google them, and I guarantee you'll find lots of sites selling both, and you can compare website's prices yourself to find what your looking for.

Also, check out this member's car: https://www.cobaltss.net/forums/featured-car-showcase-74/nicknyce-july-submission-cotm-07ss4dr-119211/

He's got the HKS Hi-Power muffler on his custom exhaust setup. Looks ill to me.

Hm, well I decided I want the Megan Racing muffler. It's not just a can, and it's a very reasonable price, and a very good company. What is the stock piping on the 2.2L, because the inlet is 2.5" on it.

Also, WhiteSSBalt, I will. Thank you for the information bro!

My friend Missy had the Megan Racing muffler on her custom exhaust setup on her '06 Civic Si.........and it literally fell apart on her. She had the cf wrapped muffler from them, and after like 2 years of it being on her car, the cf was peeling off all over the place and the rivets on the back edge of the muffler were all coming loose and falling off. No offense to Megan Racing (or its customers), but theres much nicer, higher quality mufflers out there.

Wow, that is pretty shitty..

It wouldn't be custom exhaust for now. I would just have whatever muffler I choose on, welded to my stock exhaust, then custom piping once I go turbo.

For the price your gonna pay for a quality muffler, plus the price of having it welded on to your stock exhaust, you might as well buy a cheap cat-back. It'll sound better having a full cat-back, and then when you go to new exhaust setup for when you go turbo, its always easy to sell cat-backs on here. I'd suggest getting the Tsudo setup. Its cheap....it looks nice....it'll give you a little more power....nicer sound.....and when your done with it, I guarantee you it'll be easier to sell than a muffler that your going to have cut off.
