Muffler Options

I am looking to just replace the muffler on my car. Here's what I have found for 2.25" in and out, both centered.

All prices are from Summit Racing.

WLK-17216 Dynomax Ultra Flo Aluminized $67.88
FLO-942440 Flowmaster 40 series Aluminized $82.95
FLO-842441 Flowmaster 40 series Stainless $94.88
EDL-5501 Edelbrock RPM Series Stainless $60.50 *Clearance Priced

I am leaning twards the dynomax because I liked it on my Z28, and I think it sounds the best from the online clips. My buddy is diehard flowmaster though so he is trying to get me to go that route. I don't want some pingy popy sounding fart pipe muffler.

Here's some sound clips:

Dynomax Ultra Flo on a Honda Civic (Its all they had for 4 cylinder):
http://www.dynomax.com/audio/track19.wav

Flowmaster (Acura Integra is all they have):
http://www.flowmastermufflers.com/cg...ter/sound.html

And I couldn't find a good one for the edelbrock.

What do you guys think?

im also partial to flowmaster, casue thats what i currently have on my current car. i believe i have the 50 series delta flow on a Vibe GT, it has a nice sound. its quiet at idle and loud at full throttle. I also have a CAI which makes a big difference on the sound. I dont think there is going to be much of a diff with horse power, i think the only diff is going to be sound, and that dynomax sounded good.

Borla is too pricey, and sounded like crap from the sound clips they had online.

Stock exhaust with ANY muffler wont see hp gains. Thats why people just call them "fart tubes", because they serve no real purpose w/o the rest of the exhaust. I once had somebody tell me they could feel the difference in power in their Integra GSR because of a new muffler.

you can tell a difference with just a muffler. I did on my Ram. But you will see the most gain with a complete system of course. I don't care about performance gains as much as sound.

yeah, you will not see and gains with muffler only, you'll get the performance gain when you change out the cat with a high flow cat. I'm just wondering if we will get the drop in touque that the Cavs had when you put header, high flow, and muffler on and reduce the back pressure
