Well after i reset i noticed my tank range go up an my mpg go up. I also used a drop-in k&n filter. I didnt want to remove the whole deal because my wife wants it all stock. We will see about that hehehe. In a few days i'll have numbers an pics....
Im hoping later this year i'll be able to get a air intake an a magnaflow exhaust. I know the mod was not much but i cant keep my hands off the car. Id like it to run good an sound good with out breaking the bank!
Stay tuned. I will be turning the CAI world upside down with my modded air box. It will give you more power than a Aftermarket CAI, you will be able to simply protect the car too with ease in rain and so on or for winter. and it wont destroy the box you will be able to put it back to stock. it can be done with paper element or for better peformance a K&N drop in filter. Stay tuned. If you were thinking after market CAI. wait a month. by the end of June I will either have plans or the product.

So you're saying we have a BONG down inside there, same as we did in the J-Bodies? Just a big mess of crap black tubing underneath the stock airbox? I've been too lazy to pull the passenger fender liner off yet...

Makes All Nice And Quiet...
the "tubing" is frickin huge btw.....i took off my bumper and headlight bracket and still barely got the shi t t e r out. it sucked. it does kinda feel more peppy since i did it though. and louder. fun stuff!!
i just got done taking off my intake resignator off of the airbox, and it gives it a tiny bit more response and a little more engine noise at around 3k RPM's the most.
free mod for sound i guess.
pain in the anus to get that plastic clip thing out though..

I just jacked the car up and put it on blocks so I could crawl under it... all you got to take off is the plastic stuff that just snaps together with those pins...
just don’t reroute the pipe to make it ram intake your car will not like it and cut your power as to not let a bad mod hurt the motor... smart car keeps things safe.
Really you shouldn’t mess with the stock intake it is good and you will only end up giving yourself trouble… even a lot of aftermarket performance intakes screw stuff up. This is why when Intense did the tuning for our cars they left the stock intake as is… it’s just too touchy.
After researching i wanted to see imo if taking out the airbox plastic tube out would change anything. Well its alot louder but better sounding but it was a pain to get it out. For a while that tube was rattling an i never knew what it was til today. Why did gm have the opening facing up an not down towards the road more. Mine had water coming outta mine. Later im going to get intake tubing an get better air flow.
