Exclamation Need Help! Cracked Exhaust Manifold

I own a 2007 Cobalt LT 2.2 with 128,000 Km's all Stock. So recently I heard my exhaust right near the engine was extremely loud and every time I turn the heat on all I smell is exhaust. Took it to my mechanic and he said the Exhaust Manifold was cracked but only looked at it quickly and called for a part and said it will cost me $700.... I couldn't believe it, I know probably nothing about cars haha so I did some research and now I'm here still wondering what I should do? Any help would be appreciated !

Someone here has to have an oem manifold laying around for next to nothing. Or you could also go aftermarket for not much money

A header allows the exhaust gases to flow with less restriction. If you couldnt care less about power, then i would look for a used stock manifold in good shape. A header is not going to make a noticeable difference in performance at stock level anyways.

He could also run a stock lsj manifold, granted he'll get more performance but it maybe easy to find than a used l61

I have a stock manifold/header laying around. PM me if your interested.

Shipping to Canada might be a bit pricey, but but I can still probably get it to you for less then an aftermarket one though.

Okay yeah i don't mind i heard that aftermarket could be worth it if buying brand new, looking for reasonable pricing since I'm shipping to Canada i don't care about performance or increasing speed as long as my car runs smoothly and i don't have to inhale exhaust every time i turn the heat on lol
