Need Help with Fuel Filter

Hello,
I have been doing some routine maintenance on my Cobalt LS Coupe 2006. And the one thing that seems to be troubling me is replacing my fuel filter.

I have been following the guide on the "How To" Thread

https://www.cobaltss.net/forums/show...ht=fuel+filter

I was able to remove the 2 fuel lines shown in the above thread circled in red. The fuel line circled in green is whats giving me trouble. I have a pic below showing that I have the quick disconnect (used the plastic ones, size - 3/8") tool all the way into the fuel filter. Once its placed all the way in, I try to remove the fuel filter but it does not seem to want to come off!

Any suggestions?
Thanks-

gonna sounds dirty

I think you have to push it inward just a bit to get it to release before you pull it out

yea you have to pull out the fuel line and put the disconnect ahead of the dimple, i had to cut mine down a bit to fit in. and then push it in and pull the fuel line out,

I wanted to give ya a note that you must make sure that the filter is absolutely 100% in and locked upon installation of the new one. I installed my new one an the line was secure (i thought) it popped out 3 days later and spread my entire tank of gas over 1/2 mile.
