+1 maybe for the 2.4 after upping the redline to 7K but when has it been confirmed that 2.2's run lean in the upper RPMs

Only thing I care about is the tune. Warranty friendly? HAHAHAHAHA! What warranty. I spit my warranty down the drain.

Re: 2.4 lean on top: The AFR chart I got from my dyno run indicates that the 2.4 at WOT runs extremely RICH on top. I'll try to get the chart scanned and posted. It went steadily richer as RPM increased, ending at about 10.5:1 at redline.

Actually I'm not sure. I'll ask my Pops tomorrow, but I wouldn't think they gave him a whole lot of details, since it is still unannounced.

Thats true but we are also a mile high. Less air + same amount of fuel = rich. But You were also so rich the altitude might not have mattered.

Tuning I think would be the biggest thing since there is none for the 2.2 right now. Just a speculation on my part, but I'm sure they have a few of the GMPP Supercharger kits sitting around from the Cavi days which wouldn't be bad since the 2.2 injector harness will work with the LSJ injectors.

I am going to venture a guess here--but wouldn't the computer compendsate for altitude changes and give it less fuel?

Enougyh to still make it run tich of course.

your confusing throttle linkage VS throtlebody.

And whats wrong with electronic throttle? My cruise control engages instantly! With a linkage throttle there was alwasys lag.

Interesting thought, I mean they did make a s/c for the Cavalier, why not for the 2.2/2.4 Cobalts? I'd be a great kit and if its warrantied I'll be all over it lol.

Read his post a little more harder.

If we had the tuning we could put the S/C for the Cavy on our cars(may have to re-route some of the pipework, but that is no biggy).

Go aftermarket or ask for the Cavalier supercharger. It's part # 17800001.

I just found the 2002 Cavalier 2.4 supercharger: part # 12498660. I'm sure this will with proper tuning on your SS NA.

Perhaps the reflash is a new program for the ECM that would allow the use of these parts and the deletion of the SAI.
there is no way they would eliminate the sai system. its a fed. emissions device, it would be illeagal for them to remove or disconect it.

Not possible there is no similar parts on the cav 2.4 and the ss 2.4 totally different motors sorry. I do think the eco 2.2 cav will fit but like as said before no tuning so waste of money til tuning arrives

i can confirm that gm is coming out with more performance parts for our cars, primarily the 2.4,

i was at the dealership today picking up my injector harness and we were talking about it.

basically its like the stage 1 upgrade on the ss/sc but for the 2.4, not too sure what else they have planed

new injectors/reflash, they said about 1 year before it hits the USA and sometime after that it will reach Canada.

Im not gonna wait a year+ for this so im doing it myself now

Idk if it is 05-06 or 07 because of the different computers. They have finished most of the testing and are gearing up for production right now.
That is some very good news for the 2.2 and 2.4 guys. Really glad to see GM will not ignore those types. for the 2.2s and 2.4s! I hope it is indeed true.

If it's not true I already showed you how to make a stage kit for the 2.4L in a different thread.

I'll be going to the dealership tomorrow to take my fiance's car in for a suspension problem and a check engine light that comes on when the car is put into reverse.

The only way I'll put a Supercharger on my 2.4 if it's made by GMPP FOR the 2.4L and keeps warranty. Other wise I won't touch it for know it's my daily driver and I need it and I can't have in the garage or dealer getting fixed.

And I don't want to waiste time trying to fit something, they should just make it, I'll buy it get a discount with my contacts and I'll be more than happy.
