Newbie Question 07 ATX Sedan

Has anybody gotten a chance to get a good base number on the 07 ATX cars as far as 1/4 mile times go. I bought a stock 07 LS ATX 2 weeks ago and a kid I know from the area tried racing me the other night and we were neck and neck neither of us pulled. The funny thing is that he has an 06 LS MTX with a cold air intake and a cat back exhaust. This just seemed kind of wierd to me that my stock car kept right with his slightly modded car.

Never heard any other car forums using mtx and atx aside from the SHO forums. Most people say auto or manual/stick.

well this is how tit goes, the tranny has a big diffrence in a race, especally since ur is a street one<<--not one i approve off, but hell im gulty of it too, but anyway, i have a 06 ls, i ran a 06 ss/na, and i won, he was auto and im manual, i beat him from a roll, but from a stop he would pull me and stay ahead, it just that the manual gives you more control when you run, from a roll all u have to do is make sure ur in the right gear and floor it, instant response, on a auto the tranny has to down shft, which waste time, but dyno wise i think ls's dyno in at a average of 120hp and 119trq,

you can select what gear you want to be in with an auto as well. That's what the 1, 2, etc are for.

The fact is atx will always have a higher amount of parasitic(sp?) drivetrain loss than a mtx. Therefore not as much power will get to the wheels.
