no resonator
no resonator
do our cars sound really crappy without a resonator. ive got a bud at a local muffler shop that said he can make me an exhuast for 30 if i bring in my own muffler. this is from the cat back
heres the muffler i was looking at

i have no resonator...the car def sounds raspy if you dont let it warm up really good, but its ok, kinda loud on the high end. I like it
exhaust system is cia 4-2-1 header, 2.5" dp w/ cat, 2.5" exhaust w/o resonator and a magnaflow canister muffler

like how raspy does it sound? im gonna leave me cat but i just dont want it super loud, im kinda going for the sound of the gmpp exhuast or maybe the magnaflow catback but just cheaper then what they are asking
if you let your car warm up in the morning...good to go, if you dont...mmmmm
i drive 78 miles to work and by about 5 min in it sounds good...a lil while longer and it sounds great
yea, 30 dollars sounds nice, but spring the the resonator so you don't regret it and have to re-do the exhaust in 2 weeks.
another thing is the wont be doing mandrel bends just regular ol bends will that make a difference? im thinking i probaly wont do an exhaust just change the muffler and be do cuz my car is slow as is
that should be fine...you wont get quite as much power as a mandral bend...but you will live lol
honestly save your money. will do more harm than good, and will probably be a downgrade from what you have now.
ok look dont skimp on exhaust it WILL sound like crap. no resonator will give you a pepboys honda sound that will crackle and pop and just like that other guy said you will be embarresed to drive your car. and the stock piping is not mandrel bent and if you pay for exhaust that isnt your a fool it will still sound bad plus it disrupts air flow. so im with D4u2s0t wait andsave a littlemore money and get a good exhaust.

i dont have a resonator rite now and hate it.
if u have a full exhaust then u need one or it will sound like ****.
infact next weekend im getting one welded in.
also tht muffler is pretty small, only 2.25 inch intake.

you may like it you may not, try both
i didnt *mind* it when i had the stock DP on.
now its just annoying.
still... i can almost guarantee u will have a nicer sounding exhaust with a resonator. and no real performance loss

Get a shop with a mandrel bender. Buy a good resonator and a good muffler. Done. A LOT cheaper than buying a bolt on exhaust that would sound worse.
and some people didnt want the trouble
Easy route is what you just quoted.
