Oh S$%^ Oh F%^& .......Please help asap!!

Ok guys so I tried doing a header mani swap to the 2.0 sc on my 2.2 but it was the same header. Well I got the header completly off and realized it was the same. I put it back on and now when I start the car it sounds like a mean ass sports car when its idoling. Like it had the fury under the hood but its not suppose to. It also has a very bad smell comming from it. I double checked all the bolts and nuts. There's only 10 for the mani headers and 3 for the flange. What do I do wrong? I don't want to drive the car until I know what I did...

All help appreciated

Sounds like you might have an exhaust leak. Did you rip a gasket or leave one out?

How do I know if the gaskets blown? I got them both back on there. The donut and the header manifold one. I'm so annoyed. The person I got the mani off said there was a huge diff between the two. He apologized and is refunding the money but damn. Will the v8 2.2 sound harm my ride? Can I drive it to work?

Auddasea, out of curiosity, did you buy the lsj header from ssfamilywagon? If so, its mine lol. Initially it was his and we swapped in onto my car christmas eve of 2008. You need the LSJ gaskets. Mine are still pretty good. Im currently rocking them with my OBX h/d combo and I have an exhaust leak. I got new gaskets, if you wanna try mine out, your more than welcome to

I have reused my gaskets with 2 different headers(stock to SS, SS to JBP) and never had a leak...

well your lucky...jk but still you should always replace the gaskets if you removed an item that requires one...thats how you avoid problems like the op is facing....

Issue resolved:

OKay guys here was the problem. On the LSJ's the O2 sesor happens to be in the actual mani. For the 2007's and up lt's at east its in the downpipe. The extra hole on the mani was making the sounds. All old gaskets re-used and still in good condition... Had ssfamilywagon come through and do the swap again. Guy had it done in like 20 mins to where it was taking me two hrs lol. Dude is good lol... Thanks for the replies
